Dempsey (DayZ) 4 Posted February 6, 2014 So after a couple weeks of not being able to play, I finally log back in to find my characters gear virtually all in a state of ruin? Oh well, it's in alpha these things happen. However what troubles me more, is how, a characters rags can be in a state of ruin? What damage must one inflict in order to render stored rags ruined beyond use?
antonioajc 500 Posted February 6, 2014 Wait, ALL of your items are ruined? Shit bro, can't help you there. A patch came out today that rendered all ruined items inoperable. You can't eat a can of ruined beans for example.

Z0LVIN 12 Posted February 6, 2014 Someone took your rags and cut them down into tiny little pieces using the new awesome machete which is useless against zombies. The machete needed an use beside looking cool. :D
DirtyscumbagLith 270 Posted February 6, 2014 Your rags are toilet paper and you just picked up dirty, soiled, Hep C rags to use on your open wounds. Good idea?Hmm? HMMMMM???

QUAZIMOFO 275 Posted February 6, 2014 What I really want to know is not how rags be ruined but how can rotten fruit be pristine? :P

fitzee 248 Posted February 6, 2014 Hi OP. I find it strange that rags can be ruined as well, but on top of that, I'm not sure you can even make them in good condition. Today I made some out of a tactical shirt I found(because I was bleeding and my pocket full of rags were ruined upon log in), and on creation they were already badly damaged  Guess its time to start carrying a medkit full of bandages :) Regards.
omgwtfbbq (DayZ) 1069 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) I would assume ruined = dirty. Makes sense to me so far. I should still be able to use them though; if ruined it should have a small chance to not stop the bleeding and I would have to use another. DeatHTaX 1217 Posted February 6, 2014 just about as good as using that syringe you found on the hospital floor to test your blood. but..but...the test kits come in hermetically sealed packages and are sterile :(
The Aquatic Land Walrus 565 Posted February 6, 2014 just about as good as using that syringe you found on the hospital floor to test your blood. I have concluded from this that ruined food is infested with stinkbugs, and that's why it's ruined. But, hey. Extra protein! and extra nausea....

I would say the same for the rice.Player A shoots player B in the back, puncturing a rice bag with a bullet, now even though the rice bag had a bullet go through it, does this mean that the rice is inedible? I wouldn't say so. Same goes for a few of the other items. Edited February 6, 2014 by ponymony

Thank goodness there aren't police in DayZ.
Dempsey (DayZ) 4 Posted February 6, 2014 Can anyone confirm whether or not a ruined t-shirt can be torn into usable rags?
