Rags can be ruined?

Recommended Posts

So after a couple weeks of not being able to play, I finally log back in to find my characters gear virtually all in a state of ruin? Oh well, it's in alpha these things happen.
However what troubles me more, is how, a characters rags can be in a state of ruin? What damage must one inflict in order to render stored rags ruined beyond use?

Wait, ALL of your items are ruined? Shit bro, can't help you there. A patch came out today that rendered all ruined items inoperable. You can't eat a can of ruined beans for example.

If they're ruined, they're in RAGged condition.

I'm terrible at this...

Someone took your rags and cut them down into tiny little pieces using the new awesome machete which is useless against zombies. The machete needed an use beside looking cool. :D

Your rags are toilet paper and you just picked up dirty, soiled, Hep C rags to use on your open wounds.

Good idea?

Hmm?

HMMMMM???

Hi OP.

I find it strange that rags can be ruined as well, but on top of that, I'm not sure you can even make them in good condition. Today I made some out of a tactical shirt I found(because I was bleeding and my pocket full of rags were ruined upon log in), and on creation they were already badly damaged

Guess its time to start carrying a medkit full of bandages :)

Regards.

I would assume ruined = dirty. Makes sense to me so far. I should still be able to use them though; if ruined it should have a small chance to not stop the bleeding and I would have to use another.

I would prefer small chance for infection

I have concluded from this that ruined food is infested with stinkbugs, and that's why it's ruined.

But, hey. Extra protein! and extra nausea....

I would say the same for the rice.

Player A shoots player B in the back, puncturing a rice bag with a bullet, now even though the rice bag had a bullet go through it, does this mean that the rice is inedible? I wouldn't say so. Same goes for a few of the other items.

Or clothing for that matter. A few bullet holes and some blood in my shirt might not be trendy, but I could still wear it.

Thank goodness there aren't police in DayZ.
