solartrix 6 Posted February 5, 2014 Had an idea for an "Ironman" type of server that works something like this: 1 - You have to create a new character when you first play on the server (ie, no bringing geared characters into the server).2 - You can log out when you want, but...3 - You can't take that character to any other servers. Essentially, you're playing ironman mode and you don't have to worry about other folks server hopping, combat logging, etc.. Everyone who's on that server is on that server and that's it - all the loot came from that server and everyone who survives (or thrives) had to actually work for it. However I do like the "Ironman" mode idea in the sense that if you make a character on the "Ironman" hive and die, you're not allowed to make another character for 24 hours. I think it would have a very negative impact on the game and community, i can already see the shitstorm of complaints coming in :)But it does sound interesting tbh, i just dont know if this is something the dev team wants? People complain about everything :) Even 3pp, after Hardcore was introduced lol.I see your point and its a valid one, it might be a really good idea or it might bring more "crap" along, i cant say.I just dont think we have enough "dedicated" people to fill servers with such a setting tbh. In a pure Ironman game you wouldn't be allowed back on that server at all once you got killed. I left it out of the original post 'cause that's a pretty harsh penalty. The tough part is what would you do if you had a bunch of friends on that server? You'd have to restart somewhere else without them, or make them all reroll just so you could play together again. Although it would be true to the ironman name... And heck, if there was someone you really didn't like you could conceivably "murder" them and kick them off the server... Too harsh?
