Deadmans List of Suggestions

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

My name is lildeadman, but you guys can call me Deadman (I go by a lot of aliases actually..).

I've been a beta tester for a few different games, so I'm not exactly new to testing and helping with bug reports. But one thing I've learned is that Devs don't like a lot of clutter in suggestion forums, so I'm just going to make a list of my own suggestions and bugs (as well as report any bugs) and bump it every time I've updated it with at least 5 new suggestions. I will try to keep my lists organized and neat looking and later down if I feel the need I'll even organize it by groups.. if that moment ever comes.

Thoughts, comments and other suggestions are welcomed. Hope you guys enjoy!

  • Access to city megaphones - like go to the police station or any other Government building and be able to speak publicly over the whole city
  • Bikes - if cars aren't being released within the next patch
  • Pistol Harnesses - speed up how fast you pull out your handguns, maybe like 30% faster..?
  • Hand Cars - Saw a post on this earlier and liked it, it would be useful but there are obvious downsides.
  • Plains - Longer grass in the more rural areas so when you crouch you can't be seen.
  • Corn Fields - Could be useful for resources as well as cover, not to mention running through them at night with zombies chasing you would be fun!
  • I really like this idea: Survivors Brain Concept
  • Health indicator text - So when you look at an item (without opening the inventory), the object name will indicate condition using the known colors (Pristine, Damaged, Badly Damaged, Ruined)
  • Quick Move Option - When you find a new bag and want to swap them, you can just drag the new bag, choose swap and the items will be placed in the same slots as they were in for the previous bag. I don't like having so much ammo and knowing that anyone could come up behind me with in the 30-40 seconds to move my whole inventory..
  • Simple Traps - Things such as razor wire, trip line connected to a gun or explosives, nothing serious though.
    • Razor Wire inflicts small amounts of damage, if set at foot level could slow a players movement speed. Chest level could create a lot of bleeding. Neck level instant death while a player runs and loss of blood if the player is walking. Razor wire can be gathered at military bases using gloves, every XX amount of bundles gathered damages gloves.
    • Trip line (Trip Wire) can be attached to weapons to create loud noises or to shoot the player who triggered it, could be holding a pin to a grenade or some type of electrical igniter (9V batteries and some wire) to create either an instant explosion (satchel charges) or a delayed explosion (grenades) . Trip line could just be the bundles of nylon rope that we see laying around, which is also said to be used to tie players up..?
  • Hog Tie Players - Could just be the fact that I'm from Oklahoma and my "countryness" is coming out, but I think it'd be interesting to be able to chase down a player and hog tie them if they're escaping.
  • Restraining Players to Poles/Trees - Self explanatory...
  • Defibs Revive Players - I think it would be useful and kind of nice if you could revive your dead friends with a defibrillator within 30 seconds. I understand that this could be seen as cheap, which is why you're only allowed to revive a dead friend within the first 30 seconds of death as long as he/she hasn't re-spawned within that time.

Last Update: 2/8/2014 (mm/dd/yyyy)

If you guys would like, drop by my Twitch channel. I just started it up, so there's going to be a few flaws here and there, but we all start from somewhere!

Just a note to shoot down your quick move option. Trying to make this game easier isn't gonna fly here. As much of a pain as it can be to swap goods in backpacks, it's a necessary evil in the game. Adds to the paranoia and overall feel of the game.

Understandable, I figured it would get shot down pretty fast but was just an idea.

Infact, to make things even more realistic, i think that you should have to take off your backpack to take stuff out.

I was gonna put it in a thread. I hate it that it's so easy to use stuff from your pack just like it were pockets.

I do like the pistol harness idea of making it faster. However, the megaphone is reeaaly a double edges sword. Sure, it could lead to some awesome and epic moments, but

IMAGINE

ALL

THE

ANNOYING

SQUEEKERS

Who think they are cool and just start to annoy people over it. Or just people being retarded over the loudspeakers in general. In short, it's about as good an idea as invading Russia late in summer.

If that ever gets implemented (Hope not), then people would guard the room where the equipment is. That, and one of the guards would just put on the trolo song over his mic and broadcast it all over the city. That, or Careless whisper.

I like the sound of the city megaphone, that would be fun if you play with alot of friends and can control the city (good people can be like a police/army force), you could threaten bandits if they are caught inside your city they will be executed onsite or handcuffed and locked up (where a prison would be handy lol) or if anyone is caught killing each other. and make it a safe haven for bambis and good people but all depends how you like to play. Personally I would public execute bandits in my city lol.

I would also like to see when we can have bases and camp some sort of storage where we can store all our equipment that we can't carry safely away from people, maybe like lockers or storage chests which you can use padlocks you find or even enter a code you set so only you or friends that you let know the code can access it

Health indicator text

Is already in....the game.

By that, I meant like you could look at it.......without opening the inventory. I guess I didn't explain myself well enough

I understand, and that was one of my arguments with a friend of mine. But also think of the satisfaction you'd get from killing the said person and saving the whole cities ears.. maybe something to add to this is, when you do this you're XX% more likely to be swarmed by zombies?

Most of the times dead people have a gasping hole in their head so that I don't think that idea is a good idea.

But please explain the Restrain and Pistol harness. those sound like really interesting ideas.
