So, the Sig Sauer P226... let's talk about it for a minute (or two, depending on how long it takes you to read this).

The Sig Sauer P226 is an incredibly useful handgun, having a decent 13 round capacity, as well as being chambered in 9x19mm, .357 Sig and .40 S&W (Probably only one of those calibers for DayZ). It is known for extreme reliability, and is rather ergonomic to hold (I've used one before, and it is). Any player looking for a reliable pistol would surely take a P226 over the FNX-45 or the Magnum as of yet, being that it stands in a middle ground of the two.

However, the handgun costs a high price on the market and is not something that your average farmer or civilian in a post-soviet agricultural state would own. For that reason, I'd propose that it be strictly found in military/law-enforcement type locations, as I can imagine the gun's popularity would lend some to show up in Chernarus.

I know that the devs have no reason to focus on this, and in the end it's just another military gun in a game that is supposed to revolve around civilian and improvised weapons (i.e. melee). However, I think that the P226 is a perfectly reasonable pistol to work on sometime in the long run and it's something I personally want to see eventually. What I want to know now is; what do you think?

I made this poll because the P226 is one of my favorite all-time guns and I want to see how the community feels about having one.

(Also, devs, add an Eotech to the M4 attachments if copyright restraints won't prevent you from even using a similar looking device, which I fear Eotech does actually claim on)

I dont dislike the handgun, but I like the minimalist route I would rather see more traditional weapons to the current area in which the map is staged aswell as more crafting of primitive weapons introduced.

I tried to keep that in mind while posting, but I figure that because of how internationally popular the P220 series has become that it's not unrealistic to at least find a few around that were being used for testing.

I'd much rather have them focus on improvised weapons and eastern handguns like the Makarov, Tokarev, Nagant 1895, MP-443 and Walther P-38 first, but still, in the long run I want to see a Sig  : )

This section is spot on with my train of thought.

Rocket is from NZ, why he no add ANZ army troops with Steyr Aug A2 and P226.

Heck, they're probably more likely to be helping out than US even with the few troops we do have.

^my opinion.

Pic related, the first new handgun they should add.

Also - Penis grips

I actually want to see a Tokarev TT-33 first. Although the Makarov is a good choice, the Tokarev is a more civilian pistol. The main reason I feel that they should do it first, is because the FNX-45 is a military handgun and the Colt Python is a revolver, so I'd like a civilian semi-automatic handgun first. That being said, the Makarov is a good handgun and I want to see it.

Guns will come in time, I feel that players like variety so as far as I'm concerned it would be nice to eventually have enough that it'd be hard to find the one you want. They just need to make military grade ones the rarest and civilian ones more common, though still rare. Not every player should even have a gun.

I'm not a fan of performance duplicating guns. if the cz pistol was added. what niche would it fill currently not done by the magnum and fnx45?

CZ-75P is a compact 9x19mm pistol, the FNX-45 is a .45 ACP pistol, the Colt Python (Magnum) is a .357 revolver. The P226 could be in .40 S&W, making it a balance between the high caliber .45 and the lower caliber 9x19mm. Also, variety, as everyone running around with either a CZ-75 or FNX-45 or Magnum would get boring and "gamey" too quickly.

Call of Duty: Ghosts, I'd assume?

Voted yes. Seems reasonable due to its popularity with law enforcement. However, i'de much rather see a .40 CZ-75 than this. But if thats not in, then this will do.

makarov and cz-75. Then we can talk about other pistols, but with the sig sauer, would would be it's advantage over the other 9mm pistols? would it have a larger mag? it would have more attachments, i'm assuming. Then your 9mm ammo would cross over.

The sig in .40 S&W would have made more sense than the fnx 45 in my opinion, as aftermarket parts aren't even readily available for the fnx.

or they add in the cz 82, and it's basically a combination of both. If they want, i'm not sure i'd support that idea, just a regular mak for me.
