Survival by begging and stealing only, no looting

Recommended Posts

I'm starting a series where I play by these rules:

1. Do not pick up any spawned loot whatsoever
2. Only take items/gear from other players, dead or alive
3. Do not accept items from my friends who are already geared

Hardcore servers only. Let's see how far I get.

Episode 2? Had some lols during the electro part.

Episode 2 hasn't been completed yet, and I have no idea how it'll go. I will hopefully get one of these out every week or so.

Good to hear, I'm excited about this. Seems like an interesting twist of the usual 'story' people go by(looting).

EDIT: I hope you don't mind but I'm totally stealing this idea.

Interesting.. It is nice when people come up with there own ideas.. I seen this other player posting on the forums here and he was conducting a social experiment.

He was cuffing himself then leaving a loaded pistol and the hand cuff keys a few meters in front of him then sit and wait and it was rather bizarre at some of the situations that would happen.. The people that were the most heavily armed seemed to want to help him the most where people who were desperate and had nothing were the ones with the seedy intentions

I don't mind at all, I can't start claiming that I'm the only one allowed to play this way. If you make a video about it could you mention me and link to my video?

I think I'm noticing this trend as well. Gearing up makes you a target for newspawns.

How lucky are we to have a game that allows this much interaction and so many different styles of play. I for one CAN wait to see this game in it's entirety and it will be worth it. Nicely done sir. B4U

No worries, I won't make videos off of it, even if I did, I'd mention you for sure!

Also, I tried this and the first guy I met with an M4 I asked for food, shot me on sight.

Keep in mind i had literally -nothing- on me, not even a shirt :I

Hey first post (yey)

Regarding your second video I agree with your philosophy on the game, I think KOS'ers and Bandits are a big part of the game. at the same time i'm hoping people will

start conversations before killing someone, like handcuffing and make things even more interesting.

Instead of just killing you and take your ruined stuff. I still belive KOS has it place in this game though.

I've got 137 hours in game (and alot of lurking in this forum btw) and I have had some interesting encounters from time to time. Both hostile and friendly.

People who really belives we need more friendly players should start with themselves. thats really the only way.

I'm not a bandit nor a hero. Sometimes I will kill you for your beans and pants, other times I handcuff you hand take your blood and leave you to your demise. and yes even I KOS some times, it all depends on the situation. Some players just look more of a threat then others.

*Warning for long post*

Friendly example: 3 Hours ago I walked into a "bambi" in elektro, he called out friendly and as I had the upper hand,  I also called out friendly, we chatted for abit and I gave him a few canned foods and a canopener. he suggested that we could play together but I decline (I regret it now actually. should've taken up that offer but I was being paranoid :( )

anyways, ended up giving him my Sawn-off shottie (with no rounds... ) said good bye and good luck.

Hostile example: Me and my pal was running down from Elektro into Cherno to find trouble and possibly some loot. going in the mainroad we hear gunshots and rounds hit the ground around us. we got to the well and hid behind a fence. after a minute or so we located two bandits with Mosins on the edge of the forest. we decided that I'd play the bait while he circle around and bash their skulls in from behind.

I ended up getting shot and when he got to them the server restarted. Luckily we decided to join the same server again and amazingly I was still alive (?!).

the bandits also joined again and my friend failed att killing them, getting shot a few times in his head as a result.

while he ran back with a new spawned char, I decided to take action since I had a Pistol. so I went the same way my friend had gone and ended up killing one of them and the other guy shot me in the chest resulting in my death.

was it the end of this story? no. it gets better.

We both had new respawns and ran all the way to Cherno, we found one bandit body and took his gear and started our manhunt for the last one of them.

after about 30 minutes we hear gunshots and decide to follow the sound. (we pretty much gave up on finding our murder at this point)

so we follow the sounds of guns for a while until i spot a line of zombies running over a field into Cherno and infront of them I see our guy. that one that got away, and most likely the guy I shot (he had respawned and joined up with the one that was still alive).

we surrounded the house they were in and began taking shots through the windows, while laughing like mad men B). no mercy was given that day. I killed one of them and the other one (I thought combatlogged) so we enter the house and begin looting, when I head a loud BANG and my friend screams over the comm's. he had just hid in the other room and when my friend opened the door he pulled the trigger of his mosin by accident and blew his face away, we got their gear and  to this day this is the story of "those bandits we hunted down"

Im sorry for the long story..

Also have  :beans:  for good video!

I really enjoyed the series. Subscribed.

Idea for your next challenge, allow yourself to only pickup one type of item, which can be traded for other items.

That's not a bad idea actually.
