...and you can bet there will be a new weapon-action bug such as the SKS only firing when loaded prone after 4pm on Tuesdays. ;)

You can try to find the new SKS in the experimental branch, you just have to set your DayZ properties to experimental (Steam -> Library -> DayZ -> right click -> Properties -> BETAS -> experimental). It will download an update & you'll then be able to join experimental servers with the newest patch. But you can't join normal servers then, you'll have to set DayZ back to normal in the properties.

Mosin* is and has been in game, SKS is currently in the experimental build that should be stable on wednesday

The SKS uses 7.62x39mm and the mosin uses 7.62x54 in game I believe.   So different ammo.

 

EDIT:  I am going off of the real world rifles though... since this is a game it could be different, but the patch notes said that SKS ammo was being added... I'm pretty sure it said ammo too.
