Are experimental servers restarting at all?

Yes, but it is more sudden than the normal 'Red chain, then counting up to 90 seconds.' The server I was on reset a couple of hours ago: it seems as if they reset when it gets about sunset. I got a 'session lost' message and when I logged back on, the server had reset.

The hardcore server I was on hasn't all day it seems.

I honestly don't know how to survive other than killing other players if the server won't restart since loot won't respawn. The second character I had on the experimental died of starvation and I ran Solichniy-Orlovets-Factory-Polana-Gorka-Dubrovka-Gvozdno and I didn't find any edible food. I eventually ate two pieces of rotten fruit because I felt the risk of food poisoning was better than death.

Makes it much more interesting. I got shot just outside of NWAF respawned in Elktro.

 

Managed to get an axe, can opener and a can of pop, then started a run north west.

 

• Staroye - Completely emptied.
• Mogilevka - Completely emptied.
• Novy Sobor - Completely emptied.
• Stary Sobor - Completely emptied.
• Kabanino - Completely emptied.

By this point my character is completely starving and moaning a lot.

 

I'm getting concerned I've given up any attempt of stealth in favour of speed, I'm not going to make it, based on what has happened so far I feel Vybor is my best chance it's a big town so people are bound to have missed something. Got to Vybor and there are some Zombies, the first I've seen since Elktro. First house I come to hasn't been raided go in and find some powdered milk and a fire axe. Then proceed to check the rest of town it hadn't been touched, now fully fed and hydrated, even found a mosin in one of the houses but no ammo.

 

Gear really should be that scarce normally.

They are restarted every 4 hours, but its very long time if they are full of players.

Perhaps they are testing how long they can keep it running before a restart is needed?
We dont know exactly whats going on, thats why its called experimental tbh :)

If you spawn at unlucky time when everything in range of coast is looted then you are doomed.

 

Maybe if hunting animals or berries would be in game then you would survive.

 

Or cannibalism...

More then likely i just think there needs to be someone manually reset the test servers, Because its the weekend that person is not in resetting the servers, thats what i think

The regular-mode, US-based experimental server I'm on reset a few hours ago: roughly the same time as yesterday. And I was on a regular-mode, UK-based server last night and it reset (around 9PM, EST).

Found them. It seems that if you spam F on that bush you will find berries 1 out of 10 times. So far I've been lucky and not got  poisoned.

What you see on experimental servers is what it would be if servers would be legitly up for 4 hours.

 

Stable public servers are often resetted (by crash or exploiting admins) after about 1 hour or even more often.

 

Personally I like it to see all place looted and explored on experimental servers. Also you have a chance to meet someone in places like Myshkino etc. Somethign that not happens on stable servers.
