Extension Packs

With the new updates we get a lot of new stuff for free, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Why are the devs working their a$$ off and I know game studious are expensive to drive. They are giving free content to players who have already the game?

My suggestion is that they release extension packs instead, with new guns like sks, machetes, and have new camos and bug fixes. Maybe once a month?

Don't get me wrong, I love free stuff but I just think that if dayz makes enough money we get even more updates and more development power.

Have you ever heard of the golden times, when a game was just made, sold and offered to the customers?

This was back in 2003 I guess.

Hall is not EA and they won't sell it like Battlefield, where you get some demo-like-version for 50$ and the full - hehe....premium ;) - for 80$.

troll? no one here has the full game. this isn't even beta. an alpha by definition is unfinished missing major parts of the game which this is. there's not even vehicles as of yet. if they just stopped now and said they're going to put some polish on it and consider it done, there would be around a million people demanding a refund. the reason everyone has purchased this game this early is to support the developer and to help guide the development in a way that the community finds beneficial. if you want to give them more money i'm sure they'd accept donations, but the game has grossed over $33M USD which tops some triple a developers. a nice bit of development cash for a team rockets scale

What do you exactly mean? If I were the owner of dayZ, I would simply monitize the game better, meaning bigger development teams. Some are just too narrow-minded to see that.

Bohemia has more than enough money to hire more people for a larger DEV team, but from what I can tell they don't want it. They want the game the way they want it and the more people working on the game, the less likely it is to be released the way that Rocket and his current team have imagined this game to be release.

While I don't think that OP is a troll I just think he has missed the point. You didn't buy The Full Release of Dayz you bought the Alpha that doesn't have much of the content or functionality it will have once it does release. I could see where someone who had only experienced consoles and modern rapist gaming companies who would think the broken mess that is Alpha is the full release. I get DC'd from the SA zero times versus a broken heap that was BF4 when it first came out. Given that, I can also understand where someone could feel that getting money for all this crazy content and updates they are handing out would allow more dollars to go towards a bigger team and more content. Give the poor little guy a break and instead welcome him to the amazing world of gaming done the right way.

We might or might not see DLC style extensions for DayZ, but TBH, it's way too early to even be thinking about such things. Let's wait at least til release before we start slinging about 'expansion/extension' BS, please.
