BCKane 5 Posted January 30, 2014 I believe the condition of the items pertains to their effectiveness (weapons are less deadly, clothes less damage reducing - if they actually reduce damage, etc.). Shovels kill zombies, it just take a long time. Pick up an ax. I think the new patch says that you can't use "ruined" items now. Not sure how far you have to be, but they stop chasing you when you are a fair distance from them. Don't think running makes it worse, but you need to bandage yourself. You can make bandages by tearing your shirt up.

Ruined items are useless now or at least will be in next stable update.2. It does. Needs 4~5 hits tho. Get an axe.3. Depends. Weapon, yes. Clothes, maybe. Food and Meds, IDK yet.4. You need to be 100 m away from the Z, out of line of sight and quiet i.e. walking or jogging. Crouched may also help.5. IDK. Rip up your tee shirt into rags and bandage yourself. Then it doesn't matter. Edited January 30, 2014 by DJPorterNZ
marsmars 155 Posted January 30, 2014 The best weapon I've found for killing zombies is the Firefighter Axe There's also splitting axe but firefighter axe is better, easier to hit and you kill them in one blow
ProvokeMe 12 Posted January 30, 2014 I have always had trouble losing zombies in the standalone. The mod used to be if you could break line of sight you could lose them. Weaving through the bushes would be a good way. I found out the hard way that doesn't work. I didn't know there was a distance component. I'll have to try that... Thanks...
