I want to ask this as i have been killed so many times by cheats i am starting to think its not worth playing as a quick google search you can clearly see the sites out there for exploits and how easy they are... arma 2 s just an example but now the standalone is also easy prey for those that want to get an easy ride. while i know this is part and parcel of games what do you intend to do to cheaters and third party sites offering these cheats

They have already implemented VAC and B.E. Nothing else to do really.

If it's that easy to google the exploits and cheats, do you think that maybe the Dev team has thought of this as well and are combating them?

 

and what kind of "cheats" do you think you have been a victim of, because i've logged roughly 100 hours and haven't really noticed any sort of cheating problem :/

well if you go to those sites,  you can read about the butthurt when people get banned. True - public cheats get detected fast, paycheats, detected lets say at 30% rate - but private hacks ( example : for me and my friends bla bla ) almost undetectable or low rate of 5-9% detection rate. 

 

I actualy would love an option for server admins to force a screenshot ( lets say once in hour so there is no scouting player location abuse going on ) of the players screen and for it to be saved on a server for a review. If screen is blocked ( usualy black with nothing ) then that would result in instant kick. If there are some "features on the screen that are not intended in game" it could be forwarded by server admins to battle-eye/vac/BI or whatever for review.

An alpha is used also for this, when open like the DayZ one. Remember that this is not a finished game.

They can see what the exploits are and kill them with good architecture and less scripted parts. This could not be done in a final release game, clearly. Rocket said this multiple times.

So, there are many things that can still be done, this I guess will always be improving.

Anyway, 150+ hours of gaming and never saw someone cheating (except for one PBO guy, but this is different)...I must be lucky!

I'd love to hear an example too. The problem with some players is, that they think they're so good at a game, that no legit player is able to kill them.  :rolleyes:

Though i do agree, there are cheats. But unless it's a paid one, i doubt they'll be online for too long..

the cheats i refer to are no bush or walls in buildings also for those using the cheats if you didnt take the time to google  are red name plates and red boxes around and a radar of players around you if you think this is just new to the standalone and cant happen to such a massive game i suggest you look at world of warcraft and honorbuddy :))

I meet a random fishy person ONCE some weeks ago and he called out People before i could even see them. Like detailed..."2 armed Folks from north/west" ect ect... ( we where in a closed building ).

 

I suspected him for using esphacks ( imo thats when you replace the textures, plus boxes i suppose )

 

He even stated he dosent care about the game at all..just wants to piss people off...gah what a looser.

 

So...i checked again this week and the fella has a nice VAC ban in steam. kekekeke...get em all..ban em all !

Most definitely sounds like it. He's given no clear explanation as to how these people killed him. Just advertising what they do.. 3 posts.. all in this topic.

Hello there

 

Devs are aware of the issue and whilst it is impossible to stop 100pc of "hax" the team are busy closing down exploitable areas of code and shoring up the natural defences.

 

But these things take time and in an alpha sometimes the security will be more lax than at other times.

 

Do not worry about this issue, what can be done will be.

Currently there is a big exploit known as the 'wall glitch'. (Walking throught walls, seeing thought walls, hiding in walls/buildings).

 

It is very liekely that you were killed by wall glitcher and not by someone using third party program.

lol today ive been killed about 4 times the  same  guy just turned up right behind me he had no items at all no back pack nothing he started runing along with me for about a min then he disappears for about 10 secs when he retruned he had a fire axe and smashed me in the head with it. when i asked how he did it he replied while loling magic dude magic sucks

That's probs desync. Had it happen. You could be spawnning in the same town over and over, I used to do that.

it 100% not desync was just talking with the guy he said he teleported to me and teleported the axe from nearby house

I quit playing the mod due to cheaters, but in the standalone I'm fairly certain I've only been killed by a hacker 1 time, which is annoying but lets face it, hackers will always exist and 1 hacker in 100+ hours of gametime is fine by me.
