S1lence1 0 Posted January 28, 2014 I just downloaded the game and i've searched everywhere. I'm sure it's something simple but when I enter a game I dont have any gauges. Just a dot in the center of the screen.
TwinSpire 49 Posted January 28, 2014 lol - Thats it, there are no gauges. At this point most status indicators are text based messages in the lower left of your screen. Low health/blood is indicated by the washing out or lessening of colors on your screen... black and white is bad mmmmkay.
ThisParticularIndividual 0 Posted January 28, 2014 Are you talking about the HUD status meters in the MOD version of the game? They are not in the SA version.

S1lence1 0 Posted January 28, 2014 Thanks, I guess this isn't the best game to watch youtube vids to learn to play lol. Everyone I see has the overlay of the blood drop/food/thirst etc I didn't know it was a mod.
NagsterTheGangster 388 Posted January 28, 2014 Aha yep, theyre trying to make it as "realistic as possible" so no HUD :)

Everyone I see has the overlay of the blood drop/food/thirst etc I didn't know it was a mod. There are 2 versions of the game. DayZ MOD which is a mod of Arma2. At the end of last year there was a DayZ standalone version released. All the vids you've been watching with the "gauges" were all vids of the Arma2 MOD and not stand alone. Gugolas 228 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) And the two are in a very very different stage of development. I hope you didn't get a wrong idea of this standalone...it is really in alpha. The mod was the idea, the standalone will be the result. But the mod is finished (yes, a mod is never finished, blablabla), the standalone still misses most of the core features. HUD anyway will likely not be one of those.Welcome to DayZ.Edit: that's also why this forum has the main sections "DayZ" and "DayZ Mod". The second one is for the arma II mod that started everything, some years ago. Edited January 28, 2014 by Gugolas
