The Ultimate Dayz Sa Quicktips Guide (Video)

Recommended Posts

After many, many hours of recording, editing, cursing and drinking my frustrations away, I have finally uploaded the 'ULTIMATE' DayZ Quicktips Guide (emphasis on the 'Quick')

This guide runs through everything you need to know when playing DayZ. It covers noob tips, weapon tips, performance tips, explains the hunger/thirst system, talks you through every status effect - it's causes, symptoms and treatment - and much more.

This is a must watch for DayZ noobs and veterans alike, and also those interested in getting the game.

Enjoy and be sure to like/subscribe/comment if this helped you guys out!

I don't consider myself to be that much of a newb anymore (been playing the game on my Twitch stream for a few weeks and reading these forums) but I STILL found good advice in your video.

Thanks for making this, sir, and I look forward to more videos from you in the future.

By the way, I love your logo in the beginning of the video. :D

Acapona:

Great guide. Have some new friends starting to play DayZ SA and will definitely have them check out this video. I also checked out your other videos on YouTube for DayZ. You are a good guy to the players you meet.  Nice to see we have great people out there willing to help players out.

Personally I would have liked explanations on the setting changes...  I think you gave a tip to reduce viewdistance= setting...  Why would I want to reduce my view distance=...  Most every other FPS out there you want to max that out no matter what.

Now if you had a compelling reason for the change I would pay more attention.  As it were I pretty much said wtf not doing anything mentioned if he thinks it is a good idea to reduce view distance.

Agree 100%. I don't see why you would want to do this lol... unless if your computer is that bad and you need to in order to get your FPS up. Personally, I will have everything on the lowest if that means I can max visibility, but that's just me.

Other than that, good vid. I enjoyed it.

To be honest with you I don't notice much difference with the view distance as I can still spot and snipe someone from one end of a city to the other. My compelling reason is that the Arma 2 engine (the engine DayZ uses) is renowned for having massive frame drops in the cities - which is where you will most likely run into encounters with other players. Personally I find that this view distance meets the happy medium of having awesome frames and is enough to be able to see everything you will need to. I rely on being able to twitch fire and being able to smoothly track a player if i'm shooting at him, which I feel you need to have 60+ FPS to be able to do proficiently. I understand that it's all just personal preference, but I can guarantee that if we were both in the city, me with my 70 fps and 1000 view distance will be far more accurate at hitting a moving target than you with your 45 fps and maxed out view distance. I obviously don't know how good your system is, but this is just an example of the improvement of frames I find this gives me. It might be ok for lag spikes or frame drops to get you killed once or twice in Battlefield or whatever, but in DayZ it means starting all over again. Screw that.
