In need of help! looking for more friends to play with.

Hello! i recently started playing Dayz, i have no previous experience, (have not played the mod, or any arma game in general) 

 

Id really love to experience the game the way most people do, i find myself looting too many houses, staying out in the open, and every time i come across anyone, i usually end up dead.. too many reasons to list.  

so with that said id love to team up and play with a few other people.. im 70 hours in and i still havent found a mosin, or a shotgun. plenty of FNX's.. id also love if a few people showed me their tricks to finding these weapons, and also to kind of show me the ropes.

 

as of now i basically just follow the main roads.. (off to the side of course) and i see fresh spawns.. which isnt rare, but once i get into cherno or electro anyone i see just mercilessly.. well the only way i can say it is RAPES ME!

 

i need to begin to learn how to navigate through cities without attracting too much attention, and i would love to become a hero! but it seems like at this point 99% of people are bandits.. that have no intention on making new friends or helping people out, which isnt their fault, if i was on their end i would probably be having more fun than i am now..

 

so basically all i need to fulfill the most enjoyment i can out of the game, is a couple of experienced friends to teach me the basics.. or at least how to find weapons to defend myself, i got the food/water/blood/health thing down,

now i need to just learn how to approach towns, people and how to just survive when shit hits the fan if anyone is willing i will definately take any opprotunity i can! this "offer" is open to anyone, not just experienced players, im just not finding it very enjoyable running around by myself, its fun, but it only goes so far!

There is no safe way to sneak around a city lol there are safer ways of doing it but going to electro cherno berez are always frought with danger.

 

Finding weapons is hit and miss places that spawn them dont always spawn them but always check orange brick buildings they generally have a good spawn ( not always a weapon but better than most in its chance of having one ( shotgun mossin).

 

Staying alive in interactions really comes down to controlling the situation as much as possible if you are alone and see someone who you wish to talk to my advice first would be stay low and stalk them first make sure they are alone, next make contact in a spot that gives you advantage ( higher ground hidden in bushes from a building window hidden behind a wall or just from behind them with gun drawn.

 

Dont scream friendly your really screaming i am cannon fodder shoot me. Be in control let them know you dont want to shoot but will in a heart beat if they dont follow your instructions ( dont turn around shoulder your weapon etc etc) then shoot dont give people a second chance it is all they need to kill you. Id offer to show you round but i am in AUstralia so the ping would be bad for you or me.

I'll impart some things that I found useful, and some that aren't as useful but good to know.

 

 

A couple of cities you should be aware of, that are most likely filled with players are the following:

Zelenogorks

Novy Sobor

Berezino

Cherno
Elektro

 

Those are some of the cities I found to be the most visited so far.

Source is my personal knowledge.

 

Those cities are generally good loot spots if you know how to work yourself around the map. Stay out of the main roads and work your way behind and in between houses as much as you can. Before entering any interior make sure the exterior around you, I.E the perimeter is clear and safe. Any zombies around? Kill them if they are at a reasonably close distance to avoid future conflict with them if you are in a pickle. Make a routine to safely but fully loot the entire of the town. Take your time planning it out if you want to do it smart. You could always just rush it and risk getting killed. Get to a high spot around the town to make sure you've everything in sight and scope around the town, see from what side you think it would be the best to hit from.

Inventory system can be messy if you've no OCD like some people.

 

Generally try to get one of the 35 slots backpacks if you want to get good loot with yourself really. Make sure to split your rations, in a fifty  fifty manner so you've no less food / water and no excess food / water. One or two full medkits are always handy to have. A screwdriver can be vital as you will need it to open certain tins of food. Cornflakes or rice are pretty good since you get a lot of food from it, look out for those. Avoid rotten food, use it only when the last of your healthy reserve rations expire.

 

Once you've gotten set on rations and health, it's time to /step/ up your game and head towards the direction of 'proper' gear. I'm thinking a pistol to fit inside of your jacket with 2 mags of ammo as a last-case scenario back up weapon. Either used against small fish like zombies or if your primary weapon of choice runs out of ammo.

Currently there are 3-4 types of weaponry in game, disregarding the ax, shovel et cetera.

A shotgun, an M4 Carabin and a Mosin. I forgot the 4th but I believe it was a sawn-off.

Choosing between them can vary on your personal choice, personality and general coincidence of finding one of the three. An M4 can be quite a useful weapon, providing you've enough mags for it and the proper attachments, such as the scope.

I find a mosin more to my liking as you can get a pretty 'nifty' scope for it and it generally one shot kills people / zombies.

 

 

Alright, so you've got your gear and whatnot.

What next to do? Head back south.

There are two or three options you can pull off if you decide to go south.

 

 

1.) Banditry

 

A.) - There's the first version of banditry, the generally frowned upon banditry so to say. You head south and equip your weapon, if you have a mosin go to a sniper hill north east of elektro and snipe bambies in search for rations or just pleasure of killing people. A total dick class to choose, but a one not too rare.

 

B.) - There's the second version of banditry in which you choose the more risky on. Risky in exposing yourself to death very easily as you are a bandit. You get a pair of cuffs, find your victim and aim at them. Explain to them you are going to shoot them immediately /IF/ they do turn around and strike against you, doing a counter-move for self defense. You thereby shoot them as they neglected your orders. If they comply, ask them to pull their hands up and cuff them. Steal their loot and leave them be, without killing them. You could kill them, but that would look like the first version of banditry rather than this one.

 

 

2.) Heroism

 

A.) Go south and help people in any way possible.

 

3.) Stealth approach

 

A.) Stay in the shadows along the coast, in the treeline and observe what is going on until you decide which option to choose and its sub-option.
