A little tutorial about M4 parts-spray cans

Recommended Posts

I was playing in a hardcore server alone without my group because I wanted to go to places that I considered interesting by myself. In slow-paced games like this, I really like to see beautiful and unique places and views or castles. I also wanted a more hard experience with little to no loot, and I'm not dissapointed, I had to go throught a lot of hunger in game to get all the food and gear I have now.

The thing is, while exploring places around the north while listening to Skrewdriver I came across the NWAF and got some parts for my M4, and learned a little trick we can do with spray cans.

Here we go:

I find a Badly Damaged M4 Handguard MAGPUL.

I have my Green Spraycan

I paint the Handguard with my Spraycan

And now it's green.

The thing is..

It's Pristine now.

Does this mean that the condition of weapon parts is based on the quality of it's paintjob?

See that MP Buttstock? I found it in the same place and did the same to it.

By this logic the condition of the weapon part is not supposed to affect accuracy.

By the way. I hope this is useful to you all.

No, it's a metainformation glitch (and by glitch I mean unwritten code). I don't have the technical terminology for it, but you know how in Minecraft, there's several kinds of wood but they all have the same ID? Well when you want to spawn some in, you have to know that you use /give (whoever, how much) ID:SubID. The problem (and this affects other games) is adding spraypaint causes the game to grab the ID of the new item, which is by default PRISTINE, and there is no system by which it checks its old condition against its new condition.

There seems to be a lot of bugs surrounding the spray paint right now, obviously the biggest being the Mosin channeling bug

Also spraying clips fills it with bullets.

Logic.

magic

Kind of reminds me of the Resident Evil series First Aid Sprays. Stabbed? Bitten? Almost got your face ripped off?

Spray one of these cans on your face and you're good to go.

To be honest i see no issue leaving the mosin the brown color that it is. It honestly blends in just as well depending on the cloths your wearing as the environment around you. Unless maybe like wide open grassy plans but still. But once that bug is fixed im definitely going military camo with it probably.
