Seems worthy of a topic, the game can get grindy but for some like myself that is the best part, having to gear up again.

Yea man, it's not so much that I mind gearing up again, I just wanna die naturally, To survive like i do basically gear up and get out,

What really bugs me is this isn't happening to everyone at the same time, so each respawn I have to deal with kid's and their guns.. I'm glad that they manage to have fun, but it is just a pita sometimes...

Agreed. 1 time I killed myself because I was bored of being armed to the teeth. Had 1 M4a1 w/ mp handguard and buttstock, bipod, BISU(?), ACOG and all of it pristine. Mag wise I had 5 coupled, FNX45 x 4 mags and of course decked out in camo.

Understandable Deepfryer, better to not get burnt out on Alpha and all of it's issues if you're feeling like you're on that road.

Gearing up again is some good fun. The other day I killed my friend then jumped off a radio tower just so we could start again. He never saw it coming... ;)

I hear what you are saying and agree in some aspects living your characters life to its fullest potential would be nice but sometimes other things may get in the way of that.

I agree, but for that. You need to have gear to find. Something i've had trouble with the past 2 days...

I'd have to agree with Deepfryer. It is getting very frustrating to keep starting over every time I join a sever and have my character reset. I wouldn't care if i was being killed and loosing my character, that fine its part of the game. I have yet to shoot anyone.. hell even see any one other then the few friends I play with.

I can find plenty of gear. I just want to really see how long I can live... I wanted to die yesterday to start fresh because the servers seemed to be coming around.. I stayed up till 2am gearing up on my favorite server only to see my body hit the coast just around the time I started this topic. I already have the essentials being an axe and pistol.. I've dodged many m4 rounds doing this as well.

I love the game, I really do.. I'm just not wanting to get tired of it before it his max potential. I may go give the "other game" a shot for a bit, I know this is bad practice to mention it, but for dayz atm, I don't wanna lose my love.

No shame in taking a break. My friends are DayZ lovers and have been mid-way through the mod and they haven't really played DayZ for a couple weeks. Just waiting for more content patches/bug fixes and playing the other hundred steam games we've yet to finish/stopped playing awhile ago.

I just feel this game has so much potential, and will eventually have some serious depth to it. This isn't because of anyone, rage or anything of that nature. Survival has to be an option in the survival game, and putting me back on the coast after a day of hard charging isn't winning in that department.

Dying from players is a big part of Dayz. You go from a good little hero to a KoS filthy bandit scum like I did. The transition from killing somebody and caring to "Oh that was a great shot" is remarkable.

The game is the grind. The procuring of loots, starting over, then doing it again...Unless you are all about the pvp then it's just a means to an end. Really both playstyles work it's all in the person.

I empathize man, I really do. I finally made it to the airfield for the very first time a few days ago, got all decked out, looking forward to relaxing for a bit and just exploring and then BAM!...wake up on the beach with a flashlight...its Alpha, but what a game!

My friend and I have played SA from the day it came out until today. We just found an Epoch server we enjoy and will play that until SA becomes more developed because it's lost its fun

I don't understand that people think of good items as 'end game'. )

People are looking at this like military gear + m4 or mosin is endgame... That to me is not the case, endgame is death in this world.. When you have "endgear" in most mmo's usually you raid and try to get better more pristine gear. This game won't allow that to be the case. I can almost undoubtly destroy a so called "endgame" equiped person with my bare fists.. This makes no gear worthy of end game status.. At no point are you end game in this world unless you see the "you are dead" message on your screen.

EDIT: This goes without saying, but you can play again, if you dare

Why not just play as a friendly and see how long you can last... I bet it'll offer you more of a challenge than anything else in the game right now :)

The game is good... Just tired of putting in work to only respawn... Might need to take a break...

"DayZ is not a destination, it is a journey!"

i.e. TD;LR for Dummies:

It is the 'work' that is important. Everything else is just fluff.

I'm not attached to the fluff, I want to try a shot at actually surviving on purpose lol... I was shot at way north just a bit ago, not around anything that would spawn military gear or weapons of any sort.. I like that, I can appreciate someone not shooting down a spawn..
