Why so many bandits? How to deal with them?

I was running through Elektro on a server with 40 people, was naked had nothing and some guy killed me for no reason :)

 

Yep, welcome to KOS Standalone.

 

They should just remove the zombies from the game.  They're irrelevant to player vs player murder.

 

They could even change the name to KOS Standalone Deathmatch Permadeath or something like that!

This day was again for nothing, everything went well, I was searching a military base for something to defend myself. Some person sneaked up from behind, I didn't even hear him. This time the message was "You are dead" instead of "You are unconscious".

Maybe I'm not careful enough.  Pretty frustrating. Too frustrating too continue playing I guess.

 

No, you're just an unlucky victim of the KOS style gameplay.

 

Unless they come up with an effective humanity system (like the one below in my sig), the Standalone will just be another big giant KOS fest.

 

Super boring, our clan isn't even playing the Standalone anymore.  Nothing to do, everyone shoots everyone, boringgggg!  Might as well play COD, at least that's more interesting than sneaking around till you can shoot another player in the back.

KOS is not a strategy.  It's fear and fear alone.  I've seen far too many scenes of players fully decked out in military gear taking out fresh spawns with no more than a motorcycle helmet on.... not even a hint of any kind of weapon.  Griefers that can't seem to play any game without making it hell for other people.  If you're getting your self esteem by being King of the Hill in an MMO... maybe your mommy didn't hug you enough when you were growing up.  That is if you're grown up at all.

 

If you're excuse is boredom... killing folks that are geared way under what you are has got to be even more boring.  Wouldn't it be more interesting escorting these new players or fresh spawns?  Taking them to get geared themselves?  I know I would.

 

I hope the gear quality addition to the game minimizes this.  Getting ruined gear from that poor schmuck you killed because he looked "like a threat"... none of which is useable won't be as much fun.  If you're playing bandit because you're bored... go find a new game where you're not bored.  There are lots of them... trust me, you can go be an asshat somewhere else.
