Fair/Unfair = combat logging because of server hoppers?

I was scouting a good 2 minutes before going down on the tents at NW. Then out of nowhere these two guys ran right in front of me about 2meters. There was no way they could have been there unless they were server hopping and ran from a bush/spawn. I shot one and immediately combat logged. I feel ashamed lol.

 

EDIT: Forgot to add that, I just learned that you can't alt+f4 during game. Never knew. Good thing the other guy was a bad shot. Didn't even get hit once,

True. Don't know if I killed him or not. I shot at the dude so that they would take cover. I'm pretty sure I hit cause I always have 50 meters zoomed. Maybe that's why I didn;t get hit. Anyhow. I just read tents aren't spawning loot anymore. Guess I will head west someplace else then.
