Ways to identify people in your group

Recommended Posts

IRL, you can see people and easily recognize their face and you have a better awareness of your surroundings.  In the game, it's difficult to know who if that guy coming out of a house is your friend or someone yet unknown.  Having an easier way to identify your friends seems to make sense to me.

What if the clothes we tear into rags could be tied around your arm for a color marking so we can tell who our friends are?  Or perhaps be able to rub different colors of berries on rags to make your team's color?

I really hope in future there is going to be more customisations avilable when selecting how your character looks, but I believe this has been discussed in other threads.

I always thought that there was enough variety in the clothing to identify one person from another.

What if the clothes...

What about just adding additional faces until we got enough to recognise people by them? Would also give masks some additional use.

Color markings and other clothin-related identification are indeed good ideas. So good in fact that they were brought up like 10000000 times.

lol when everyone is running around looking like a park ranger and your mate screams "shoot him, shoot him" on TS/Vent/Mumble, who do you shoot?

"Team" sounds so competitive. I do not see the necessity of colour markers. In my group we communicate before going into action. Also, when night time finally works, you would not be able to identify colours clearly.

You're right.  We should call them gangs instead of teams.  We'll give red arm bands to the Bloods and blue arm bands to the Crips and we can defend our hoods (towns) from the hordes of cops (zeds) and pop caps in the honkies (bambis).

This is why the military uses uniforms.

Everyone looks the same and can be identified more easily, but even then accidents can happen due to miscommunication.

There we have the 2 most important factors for FF identification, Uniformity, Clear Communications and then last but not least Leadership.

Here's a simple tip for any fireteam that finds itself in a PVP situation, everyone wears the same headgear(or no headgear) and drops their backpack.

This has never happened, honestly.  I don't usually roll with more than 2-3 others.

I suppose I start shooting and half-heartedly hope it's not my buddy. lol.  The friends I roll with would probably not be too upset anyway.  We don't get all that worked up over dying cuz regearing is too easy.
