Combine (DayZ) 247 Posted January 23, 2014 I thought "hackers" (script kiddies, unless it was a 'real one') can't steal keys anymore. At least "here".

Tough shit. And please don't do the "I got my CD key stolen" sob story. It won't fly around here. The only Dumbest thing here are the pathetic losers like yourself who've cheated. If you legitimately got your key stolen you would have sorted this issue out by now. This post just reminds me of "i got banned because I used TS overlay" what a crock of shit. Go cry elsewhere. Great new though to hear that people are being cross banned! Edited January 23, 2014 by Irenicus

deebz1234 243 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) whats crazy is this: how long ago did you get banned in arma 2?how the fuck would they correlate that to SA? (if it was ages ago)battle eye bans GUID, Steam, IP (maybe other stuff) if you got banned yesterday, then i understand how they crossed it to SA but if it was previous to an IP change then how the fuck is this possible? can you prove this? or are you just pissed cause you tried using cheat engine with SA or some other ? faramon 66 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) or ... you could buy DayZ SA on a different account as you wouldn't need to rebuy arma 2 for it .... but please don't because ... Reasons. Edit: caught up he bought it then realised his cheating ways had banned him here too .... who here feels pretty good about this .. I think I do. fluxley 2228 Posted January 23, 2014 You only have yourself to blame if a you lost your key, its your responsibility and only you can download and run whatever program it was that took the key.
Punkrawks 136 Posted January 23, 2014 The only way a hacker can steal your keys is if YOU downloaded a cheat/hack program and ran it. It's your own fault for trying to cheat and getting caught. I have no sympathy for you, if it costs you an extra $30 then so be it. Maybe you'll learn your lesson.

deebz1234 243 Posted January 23, 2014 ohhhh ya, people actually played DayZ mod with Steam..i forgot about that...i understand now how they could in a very rare instance cross ban...if you were a fucking moron...and actually hacked with your steam account... Only arma 3 and standalone keys are linked, anyone saying they are banned on arma 2 AND dayz just got caught twice.
DeatHTaX 1217 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) People don't get banned like that unless they deserve it, which is more often than not the case and with a name like "ghilliexpwnz", couple with the lack of grammar, i can only leave it to my imagination that the age of this person is somewhere in the pre-teens :P Edited January 23, 2014 by DeatHTaX

Derpy_Hooves (DayZ) 4521 Posted January 23, 2014 It's illegal for them to ban you from Arma 2 then carry the ban over to the Stand Alone... if you have bought a COMPLETELY different game NO BANS should carry across...
fluxley 2228 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) you dont think that someone hacking on arma 2 with their steam account, instead of using BIS keys can get banned on SA? this is the only way I can think possible. nah, Hicks confirmed it a little while ago found some quotes BattleEye in full spin ;) by Hexploitin dayz [–]Hicks_206 168 points17 days agoTo be clear, Arma 3 & DayZ share BE bans - as they are both Steamworks titles. BattleEye in full spin ;) by Hexploitin dayz [–]Hicks_206 29 points17 days agoArma 2 is not a Steamworks game. Edited January 23, 2014 by Fluxley
SmashT 10907 Posted January 23, 2014 you dont think that someone hacking on arma 2 with their steam account, instead of using BIS keys can get banned on SA? Nope. ArmA 2 uses a different non Steam dependent system to determine the GUID. ArmA 3 and DayZ the GUID uses the Steam Profile ID.
