DayZ picking old account name

I'm using my brother's PC to play this game (mine doesn't run it) but even those I logged out his steam account and logged in mine (desktop app and browser) DayZ picks his name for my character. Any idea why it still picks my brother's account?

I reckon it's simply his computername it's picking up.

 

Do you have the same character as your brother? Or is it yours?

Probably because the two are not related to each other. Just click on the name at the bottom right corner in the main menu of the game and type whatever name you want.

For some reason it's using my PC name too.

I had this today and it picked my wife's name, which freaked me out until I realised we shared a female character back in the days of the mod.

Yeah I can't find any way to change my name :(

 

EDIT: Apparently you can change your name by clicking your name in the bottom right corner in the main menu. Why is this not a box in the character screen? This is very unintuitive

Unintuitive?

All you have to do is click your name and change it, it could simply not be more easy mate :)

Theres no reason to "pack it away" in another menu, this solutions works very well.
