Doors - randomly open / closed on server reset

Recommended Posts

Having all doors across the maps set randomly open / closed on server reset would stop a lot of server hopping.

People wouldn't be able to simply jump in and out of servers to check whether a particular airfield or town is looted, without having to go in and actually and check out the loot spots.

Nah. That's just how the game works. This won't stop server-hopping, there will be different systems for anti-server hop. You're basicly trying to remove part of realistic knowledge your character would have. ''All the doors are left open, somebody has probably went trough here, I best move on''.

I don't care if all the doors are open, I check.  I just check more carefully, never know what someone missed, doesn't want, doesn't have room for, or left behind.

Ya think in the event of a zombie apocalypse, everyone would have made sure to close all doors before expiring, getting eaten or bugging out?

Servers are not supposed to restart. Not worth a temporary fix.

(nice idea if servers supposed to restart, but this is not the case)

Servers HAVE to restart eventually, even if everything works perfectly (which it wont), It'd just be a mater of maybe one scheduled restart a day vs 1 every 4 hours to redo loot and zombies.

It would be nice if many exterior doors in urban and industrial area would have the door closers (Soviet-style) and the door springs. Although without proper interaction this seems too difficult to be implemented.
