The Massive Castles of... Nothing?

I'm coming from the NW Airfield after a huge firefight - some group is after me and my M4 is out of ammo. I head East because I figured, let these nubs try and take me in Devil's Castle. These guys are inaccurate as stormtroopers, they're hitting the ground by me 8 meters away. By the time I make it to the castle, I can't see them anymore. I figured there might be something in the area because I'd seen that there was often some decent loot to grab in some DayZ mod videos. 

 

A can of sardines.

 

Is there normally such a lack of supplies in these castles? Or did I just get unlucky and find everything looted?

I'd guess that the loot tables for them just haven't been set yet?

Maybe that, also - the loot was spawning underground in early patches.

I'm going to guess that if the castles have dedicated loot pools, they're spawning in inaccessible locations (IE, in the floor/walls/underground), or the pools are buggered up (like when the magnum wasn't set to spawn anywhere, except nothing is made to spawn in castles)

Realistically though, do you expect to find an American assault rifle and a bunch of ammo in a castle? :)

Have not seen any weapons or ammo at the castles yet, only clothing floating in mid air. I have only checked them out a few times though.
