Kar98 and Gewher41 have no place in DayZ, but I voted for them because I'm a wehraboo.

Mausers are pretty common, many countries used some form of Mauser to begin with, and thanks to the Germans millions of K98Ks, etc, are still spread all around the globe. German Mausers have been used recently in Afghanistan and Iraq. Yugoslavia kept on producing their own 8mm Mausers until 1965.

Apparently they've already made a Mauser for standalone, looked like a Gewehr 98 but the shot wasn't great.

Mausers are extremely common.  The G41 may not really make sense since only few were made before being replaced by the G43 which also wasn't produced in impressive numbers, but there was some 15 million K98k rifles produced alone, not counting other designs like the M24, M48, etc..  Considering the huge scale of the Eastern Front and the number of RC K98s in the United States alone, it makes quite a bit of sense to see a Mauser of some type.

Yeah a 98Ks and M1898s still show up occasionally alongside guns like the Mosin, SKS, AKM/Type 56, FN FAL and G3A3 in the hands of militia and whatnot, so I can imagine that a few farmers here and there would use them. Also, Mausers are cool rifles :P

I think WW2 relics should definitely be in the game, they should be a bit less common than civilian firearms though. I'd like to see civilian hunting rifles/shotguns crossbows and self-made weapons placed at the bottom of the weapon hierarchy followed by old WW2 weapons like the PPSH, Tokarev, SVT-40, Mauser followed by Kalashnikovs, PKs, SVDs and then NATO weapons, which should be extremely rare. 

 

I'd be stoked if they went for authenticity when it comes to firearms rather than pandering to American gun-enthusiasts and CoD kiddies by adding tons of high-tech assault rifles and machine guns. I'd primarily like to find Russian, Czech and Romanian civilian market weapons that I've never heard of before and lots of CZs.

You really just aren't getting it.

It makes zero sense for it to be in the game.  Zero.  

And it also doesn't make sense to bring up the weapons in the mod because the mod had to use what was available, not making them from scratch.  It's why stuff like the No.4 Mk.1 and SA80 is in the mod but not the standalone.  The AK-12 and AN-94 have zero place in the game.  They are experimental weapons, with the AK-12 not even being in any active service and has no plans to be introduced for quite some time.  If this game was some 60 years in the future, then perhaps it would, but not now.  The AN-94 is a completely different story seeing how basically no one is issued it, even in the Russian armed forces.  The overwhelming vast majority of the military uses the AK-74M with many units still using the AKM, including the Spetsnaz.  It would make more sense to include things like the VSS and GsH-18 than it ever would the AN-94 let alone the AK-12.  I'm dumbfounded that anyone would think the AK-12 being in DayZ is a good idea.  

The AK-12 being in the Czech Republic after the apocalypse makes as much sense as finding an OICW in New Jersey if the game took place there instead.  Unless they plan on suddenly adding an experimental weapons lab in DayZ, then it makes no sense to include it considering the entire area looks like it's from the 1980s.

All you are doing is putting words in my mouth that I never said, and not answering my questions.

So of course the AK-74 is much more common then the AN-94 but your saying it would make no sense for it to be in the game I am dumbfounded by that. With the AK-12 I merely threw that out there along with the AN as a extremely rare AK(it was not to be taken seriously but you started with the hate). Also if you think the AK-12 will be the gun of the future in 60 years, the 1st assault rifles were developed in the mid to late 40's, before that the Maxim the 1st actual automatic gun in 1884. I am not saying the AK-12 wont be in use in 60 years but I believe they will prob have a new variant by then.

I think Russia had a lot of Kar98's stockpiled after the war and it was exported to different countries before the war. I think the Kar's captured by the Russians are called RC(Russian Capture) Mausers by collectors reading about them they have a X stamped on the stock they could add the X to the in game model.

Ask a Latvian, Lithuanian, Afghan, or pretty much any place that a conflict took place how well the Russians were at policing up weapons after a conflict. hint: it's below "You've got to be fuckin' kidding me."

You have zero reading comprehension.  I never said that you told me it would be found in police stations.  I said that out of convenience when explaining how ridiculous it would be to find an AN-94 ANYWHERE outside an armorer's locker room in Russia.  I also brought up the mod because you brought up how you could find a crashed helicopter with dead special forces on it, which is from the mod.  I didn't think I'd have to explain the simplicity of speech to you in addition to explaining why a rifle that is barely out of testing is a poor choice for being in the loot tables of a post-apocalyptic survival game.  

 

You can also keep your terrible links from worldguns to yourself since it's filled with misinformation.  The AN-94 is not in any respectable service numbers, not even slightly.

IT MAKES NO SENSE TO HAVE THE AN-94 IN A POST APOCALYPTIC SURVIVAL GAME BASED ON REALISM.  I really don't know how I can drill this any further into your head.
