Is everyone getting 'no communication from server' on a regular basis?

On any given play session of 2 or 3 hours I'll have to jump servers 3 or 4 times due to getting the red text and the timer.

 

I'm not complaining, as I'm aware of the status of the game, just merely wondering if this is currently normal or if I have some kind of exceptional issue.

 

It's quite tense if I happen to be in a city at the time as I have to log back in on a new server and have no idea what I'll be up against. This can be made easier by jumping to an empty server initially, finding a quite spot and login out and back into a populated server again. The whole process gets pretty tedious however and I lose all sense of  whats goin on around me regarding player traffic.

 

If its a server stability issue, fair enuf, no doubt it will get resolved in due course.

I get the same. I don't think I have been able to play continously on a server for more than 1 or 2 hours. But it happens at all times, sometimes even just after spawning. I have noticed that I am far from the only one, as I regularly read "Player X is losing connection to the server" messages.

I suspect it might be, hopefully they'll add server announcements at some point to ease my paranoia.

 

I'm guessing it doesn't take more than 2 minutes to restart a server? Next time it happens I'll go have a coffee and see if I can rejoin same server.

It isn't. It is the golden chain of doom. You should count yourself very lucky, but probably in the minority, if you have never experienced that.

It definitely is server restarts. Whether its planned that way (a lot of servers say it in their name, or tell you in the MOTD that they restart on a X hour schedule), or the admin/GSP is restarting it, its a server restart. You can almost always immediately rejoin the same server.

 

It appears that when you see that red text in the center of your screen. the server has restarted- you can sit and wait the 90 sec to get kicked, or immediately exit and rejoin the same server. We used to wait it out hoping for the desynch to come back but later realized that you do not have to wait- exit and rejoin and *bam* fresh server with fresh loot spawns- and fresh zombie spawns as well.
