Steak and Potatoes 13480 Posted January 21, 2014 Nothing you can do about it, that is if your talking about DayZ SA.
Holylance 56 Posted January 21, 2014 Sorry to hear that this happened. KOS is not actually a banable offense and there really is no way for server admins to detect this. They will just post it in there server names to try and ward off evil doers but they have no way to know who is KOS.
Tizzle 90 Posted January 21, 2014 There isn't really a way to know who you are dealing with. You can press P to view all the members of the lobby, but that doesn't really help your cause. The only way to get someone's name is for them to tell you or for you to interact with them (e.g. "You begin handcuffing XxCOD_ELITE_SNIPEZxX")
Dchil 829 Posted January 21, 2014 There is no such thing as a Non-KOS server because it can't be enforced. Not because it is hard work but because one of the terms and conditions of making a new server in the game state that no server can kick or ban for PVP. phamilton82 9 Posted January 21, 2014 Oh that sucks. Well it was actually a blessing in disguise because when I respawned I came across a dead body that was STACKED with stuff like a Rosin, an IV kit, a seringe, an axe, rags and other stuff so I can't be that mad I guess I just have to be more careful. Now I'm on to figuring out how to use this Mosin! Thanks the replies though guys. It sucks that these fools can't be outlawed
Zollicoffer 200 Posted January 21, 2014 Check your history, find out what server you were in, find the server admin's username, use that to possibly find his steam account, send him a message with the KoSer's username, convince him to drop the ban hammer, then find a new server because civil servers are against the hosting rules. This game is meant to be frustrating. If there's no challenge, then there is no satisfaction in surviving. The fact that it irked you enough that you came here to complain about it says something very good about the game design. Now I'm on to figuring out how to use this Mosin! Thanks the replies though guys. It sucks that these fools can't be outlawed I predict that you will have that equipment for a very short period. IV kit is useless without another player. Syringe is useless without an injection vial, which itself is only useful if you become sick. Rags are no better or worse than bandages. Not really what I would call "STACKED". And lastly, some real advice: DayZ is brutal. So brutal that it is one of only TWO games (the other being EVE online) that has given me an ACTUAL adrenaline rush, a pounding heart, and sense of fear, all at once. A lack of PVP would eliminate this feeling entirely for me. But hey! Play HOWEVER you want man. I fully encourage anyone to play in any manner they wish, so long as they don't mind me doing EXACTLY the same....WHICH may or may not entail shooting your dumb ass from 400 meters away because you were a dumb ass and stood out in the open. THIS IS A PVP AS WELL AS PVE GAME. Get used to it, or wait until private hives are out, and play on a carebear server, where everyone can hold hands around the campfire and sing songs, and peacefully harvest beans from the local market, and gather endless amounts of milspec gear that will never be used, aaaaaand get killed when a troll joins the server. Don't worry, it will happen. I am SO sick of people who want to dictate how I play this game. Sure, you COULD say I was forcing my playstyle on you when I shoot you, but that would only apply in a private hive where such rules could be enforced. CURRENTLY no such rules are allowed, and all players on all PUBLIC servers are playing a game that involves PVP as well as PVE. So suck it up and stop being a whiny, entitled little twat just because you lost some digital items. -end rant.
SirTexasSir 3 Posted January 21, 2014 I understand the concept of the game, but these guys camping out new spawn areas and sniping you before you even find any gear, which has all ready been gather up by other new spawns is getting old. It's really encouraging people to go to less pop servers to gear up. They should put the spawn spots all over the map and not just the coast line. Make them more random (I keep getting the same three areas).

ninjacalypse 551 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) How do you report someone who blatantly attacks you in a non KOS room, let alone attack from behind like a b**** on someone who barely knows how to play? Is there a way to get there name? Or is there a way to contact the server admin. I don't even know how to check what room I'm in while I'm playing. There may be "NO KOS" or "PVE" or "Friendly" Servers but they aren't enforceable. The official server hosting rules for DayZ state you cannot kick/ban players for killing you, killing your friend, taking your stuff, making you eat rotten kiwis, etc, etc, etc. Additionally, you should observe these rules when playing DayZ: 1. Don't get too attached to your gear. (You're just holding it for someone else) 2. Deal with it. Edited January 21, 2014 by NeedsFoodBadly

An absolutely DOUCHEY way to play the game? Most certainly.

Plus you dont understand that what happend to you is BOUND to happen if People try to falsy advertise their Servers as PLAYER FRIENDLY NO KOS ONLY PvE wich goes against everything that makes DayZ unquie. Also...i think People go there to specificly KILL anyone they come across just to piss them off :D Edited January 21, 2014 by {Core}BlackLabel
