Pistol vs. Revolver, which is best?

Recommended Posts

So between the .45 FN and the .357 Magnum, which do you prefer?

I like the .45 because it has 15 rounds vs. 6 and is quicker to reload when you have extra mags. You don't have to be as accurate with it as you can afford to miss a few shots, and it still kills zombies with a single shot, at least when I tried it. Also, it doesn't seem to be nearly as loud; when I shot a zombie with the Magnum, zombies rushed me from all corners of Elektro! lol

Aside from personal preference, does anyone have any data on the weapons as far as damage, rate of fire, spread, etc.?

Any info or stories would be appreciated. Thanks!

That feeling when you miss your shot by a hair and can't make a follow-up shot before being blown away by the other player.

Not so epic.

If you ain't got the job done in 6 bullets, you're probably dead yourself. And those 6 bullets from the magnum are more likely to get the job done

Against zombies I prefer the .45 every time. Against players in a building I prefer the magnum since it seems to do more devastating damage. However outside against players, I would prefer the .45 since it's way more accurate at a distance.

Edit: I also tend to think of it this way: The magnum also sends a warning of "loud gun here, come in and you're dead too," though it can also say "I only have 6 shots, come in and get me while I'm slowly reloading."

The Magnum of course. That thing is loud as hell, and that's what your opponent gets. If you meet one, that is. Haven't for 4 hours now. Well, 2 friendlies, ok...

Yeah, if they had a .45 6-shooter It would be the ultimate. However, I just like the feels of the .357 magnum and will likely use that over the fnx.

Just because, feels:

The Python is better for taking out a single player. The FNX45 is better if you run up against multiple players.

I feel more secure behind the magnum, just because i know the sheer power behind it. And because it looks really badass in a chest holster

For reasons of being super cool, or if you just want to imitate Rick from the Walking Dead - Magnum. Also superior damage.

For survival I would go for the .45 though.. If only just for the 9 more shots you can fire without reloading relative to the .357. Also less zeds will come lurking about using the quieter FNX.

If I find a magazine, it's always the FNX for me, untill then - Magnum.

I don't really use handguns when I'm full geared though, will always try to walk around with a Mosin on back and M4 in hands in town (other way around crossing country), usually takes some time to find both of them though.

FNX anyday. Sure the magnum is loud and feels better but I had a .45 and a guy with a magnum shot me in the back. It didn't kill me and I had 5 shots in him before he got the chance to shoot me again.
