DayZ Attachment's for newbies.

Recommended Posts

Ok, this is going to be a thread/topic about attachment's, and all the info about them. So let's get going.

FNX45 Attachment's

256px-FNX45.png

256px-FNP45MRD.2.png

FNP45 MRD. (Red dot sight)

It is a simple red dot sight, instead of the iron sight's. It does make aiming a bit better, and makes the weapon look better itself.

Where to find it? : To find it you have to go to the Airfield or the two Airstrips (( Balota and Krasnostav )) and search the hangars. It mostly is only found in army tent's, which are in Balota and the Airfield.

Rarity? : Very rare. I've managed to find only two of them in 90 Hours of gameplay.

400px-FNX45_FNP45MRD.png

This is how the gun looks with the MRD attached to it.

Suppressor .45ACP

l0eFXYb.png

This is the suppressor for the FNX45, it does not do anything except for when you shoot, zombies act like it it actually suppressed.
Other than that, it's just a cosmetic item for right now.

Where to find it? : You should be able to find it in Airstrips, general military areas, and fire stations. Sometimes office buildings as well.
Rarity? : Medium.

Pistol flashlight

p0MyDXd.png

It is a flashlight that is used to illuminate an area with light. It does require a battery to work, and can be attached to the FNX45.
It is very usefull in nighttime servers.

Where to find it? : You can pretty much find these lying around in the diners. (( The red buildings )).
Schools, hospitals, and of course general military areas.
Rarity? : Light.

Magnum attachment's

 800px-.357_Magnum.png
.357 Speedloader

PAmldgX.png

This is a speedloader for the magnum .357. I think it will load the weapon faster, and It can be found with 6 bullets inside it. You can either eject or load bullets into the speedloader. The speedloader act's like a magazine, you can press middle mouse button and/or R to reload it, but you will need to fill the speedloader up after you do that.

Where to find it? : You can find it at fire stations, schools, offices and general military areas., (( Police station's, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

Rarity? : I'd consider it Medium

Now the Mosin Nagant.

Mosin_9130.2.png

200px-PU_Scope.jpg

PU Scope (Tri sight scope)

First off, the PU scope. It's a tri sight scope. For right now, as far as I know, only this, both red dot sight M4A1 optics the LRS and the ACOG scopes crack when they are in poor condition. PU scope makes it alot EASIER to shoot the Mosin when you first get it, because it increases accuracy and let's you shoot farther away.

550px-Gews_pu_scope_diagram_2.png

PU scope zeroing guide.

Where to find it? : It is not that rare and can be found at two story building's, office buildings, fire stations, hangars, military barracks, and tents.

Rarity? :  It isn't a rare item and I'd say it's a medium to light rarity one.

Scope.png

Long Range Scope

The LRS (( Long range scope )) Default zoom is 200 meters, and you can hold right mouse button to zoom in into 800 meters.
The LRS is not meant to be used in close quarter combat, because obviously you will zoom in too much, but however, I myself did test it out in close combat, and it is good when you aim at a target who is about 60 meters away. You can see the target and his surrounding's.

NOTE : If you turn FOV (( Field of view )) down to 0 when you snipe, you can increase the zooming in by about 400-600 meters.

Where to find it? : It is a pretty rare attachment and is found at military barracks, police/military stations, tent's and hangars.

Rarity? : Varies from Very rare to rare.

256px-ATLAS_Bipod3.png

ATLAS Bipod

The ATLAS Bipod. It increases accuracy significantly  when prone. It has two states, extended and the default one. If you use this, and I am pretty sure you do, I'd reccomend always having it on it's "deployed" mode, since you wont need to go to your inventory and change it everytime you encounter an enemy. Having it deployed does not change any gameplay except for combat.

Where to find it? : It is commonly found in military bases, (( Tents, barracks )), fire stations, police stations, and sometimes office buildings.

Rarity? : It isn't a very rare item and if you search for it alot, you might find it under 40-20 minutes. It's a medium rarity item.

Mosin M44 Compensator.

92QIO6d.png

It is a compensator for the Mosin nagant, according to it's description it is supposed to reduce the noise and increase accuracy.
I is very good since you get a silent mosin, and increase the accuracy, this combined with an LRS (( Long range scope )) and an bipod could result in a medium noise far range sniper rifle which is ideal for people who like to play a sniper role, and like the mosin in general.

NOTE : I do not know about it very much since I have not tested it out yet, I will update as I test it out.

Where to find it? : You can find them at Barns, diners, (( the one floor red buildings )), fire stations, schools and general military areas , (( Police stations, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

Rarity? : Medium to Rare

mosinbayo.jpg

M91 Bayonet

The M91 Bayonet. Currently it is only used to open canned goods, and can be used as a melee weapon. No other purpose.

NOTE : It can be used as a melee weapon whilst in hands.

Where to find it? : You can find those at military camps, (( Tents , barracks )), sometimes police stations, office buildings, and sometimes even at two story buildings or small shops and supermarkets.

Rarity? : I'd consider this a medium rarity item as it is not hard to find.

Now the M4A1 Attachment's.

M4A1.png

256px-Handle_Optics3.png                                    BUIS_Optics3.png

M4 Carryhandle Optics                BUIS

Both of those two are iron sight's. The first one is carryhandle optics, and the second one is BUIS.
Both of them are quite rare, though their condition doesn't matter if you don't plan to use them for far ranges. But If they are ruined, or damaged, your aim will be slightly worse than it would be if you had them in worn or pristine conditions.

NOTE : You can only have one of them attached at a time.

Where to find it? : You can find those only at military bases, (( Police station's, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

Rarity? : They are quite rare. I'd consider them a rare item. The BUIS is alot more rare then the carryhandle optics though.

T3N_RDS_Optics.png  256px-RDS_Optics_Zoomed.png256px-M68_CompM2_Optics.png
T3N RDS Optics                            M68 CompM2 Optics

This is T3N RDS Optics and M68C COMPM2 Optics. It's a simple red dot sight. You won't zoom in when using those optics, and not alot of people use them.

While the M68C COMPM2 Optics are used more commonly, they will zoom in about 1x or 0.5x.

They're used in medium/close combat firefight's and should not be used for far range fight's since you wont be able to shoot very accurately, and wont see the target good.

NOTE : Red dot sight optics do not need a battery attached to them to work. (( As for right now ))

Where to find it? : As for all M4A1 attachments you can only find them at military bases, (( Police station's, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars..

Rarity? : It is a rare/medium rarity item.

256px-Weapon_Flashlight3.png256px-Weapon_Flashlight_M4A1_Img1.png

Weapon Flashlight

It requires the RIS Handguard to be attached to. And a battery to work. To use it you need to attach it first, then press right mouse button on it, and press "Turn On"

This attachment isn't used alot, since people tend to play in daytime servers only. But if you do play in nighttime servers it might save you from death in combat.

Where to find it? : They are spread out all across the map. From hotels to two story buildings, and from fire stations to military bases, and you even get one when you spawn.

Rarity? : It is not rare at all. I think it's a light/very light rarity item.

1.                                      2 .                              3.

256px-Plastic_Handguard3.png256px-RIS_Handguard3.png256px-Magpull_Handguard_Green.png

1.M4 Handguard Plastic
2.M4 Handguard RIS
3.M4 Handguard MP

Those make some difference in combat, especially for the RIS which can have a flashlight attached to it. And I'm sure will have something more than that attached in the game's development process.

As for right now they are for cosmetic's (( Except RIS ))

NOTE : RIS and MP increase accuracy slightly. MP handguard combined with the MP buttstock makes M4 very accurate.

Where to find it?: They can only be found at military bases, (( Police stations, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

Rarity? : I'd consider them rare item's. Especially the RIS which is the rarest.

1.                                    2.                            3.
256px-OE_Buttstock3.png256px-CQB_Buttstock3.png256px-Magpul_Buttstock3.png

1. M4 Buttstock OE.
2. M4 Buttstock CQB
3. M4 Buttstock MP

The buttstock's make a big difference in firefight's since the condition of them determinates whether your shots will be accurate or not, whether the recoil will be terrible or not. They play a big role in combat.

NOTE : CQB Buttstock increases weapon manoeuvrability at the cost of Mid range accuracy and the MP buttstock combined with MP handguard provides extra accuracy.

Where to find it? : They can only be found at military bases, (( Police stations, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

Rarity? : I'd consider them medium rarity items.

256px-Acog_Optics3.png256px-Acog_Optics_Zoomed.png

ACOG Optics test

The ACOG optic's are the rarest in game in my opinion. They are made for any type of combat, whether its 10 meters or 200 meters.
But as every optic, it isn't very accurate in very long ranges. It can zoom in into 700 meters when holding right mouse button, and the default zoom in is 100 meters.

NOTE: Although the in-game description states the ACOG has 4x magnification, it currently only magnifies 1.56x compared to the naked eye. You also have to check the condition of the scope, because if it's in a bad one, it will be cracked and scratched like the PU or LRS.

Where to find it? : Again, it can only be found at military bases, (( Police stations, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

Rarity? : Varies from rare to very rare.

256px-M9A1_Bayonet2.png

M9A1 Bayonet
 not be us
It is currently only used to open canned good's and can be used as a melee weapon, serves no other purpose though.

Where to find it? : Only found at military tents.

Rarity? : Very rare.

256px-Suppressor3.png

Suppressor 556

The M4A1 bayonet and the suppressor occupy the same space on the gun and therefore only one of these attachments may be attached at a time. It seems to be cosmetic only at the moment.
It does not make a sound difference in game. Therefore considered an cosmetic item.

Where to find it? : Again, (( Sigh )) it can only be found at military bases, (( Police stations, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars. Sometimes at the office building at Elektro. (( The "School" ))

Rarity? : Medium.

IZH-43 Attachment's

Izh43Shotgun.png

12ga Pellet Snap Loader.

Ss5fevs.png

It is s snap loader that can hold up to 2 12 gauge buckshot's. Or round however you prefer to call them. You will find this attachment with 2  12 gauge buckshot's in it. You can load or eject ammo out of it. It act's like a magazine, just like the speedloader for the .357. You can press middle mouse button or R to reload it. Keep in mind you will need to fill it back up to reload it like a magazine again.

Where to find it? : You can find it at hospitals, schools, fire stations, supermarkets and general military areas , (( Police stations, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

Rarity? : Medium.

The B95 double rifle.

huntung-rifle.jpg

The B95 speedloader.

hunting-snaploader.jpg

This is an attachment used for faster reloading, you can eject bullet's out of it, and place them back inside. You can reload it faster just by pressing middle mouse button or R to reload your gun, just like with a mag. You can do this with all spealoaders.

I think you can use this for the Mosin Nagant but I am not sure, I think

Where to find it? : You can find it at hospitals, schools, fire stations, supermarkets and general military areas , (( Police stations, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

Rarity? : Medium.

 The Ruger 10/22.

300px-Ruger_io3-e1390255869736.jpg

As I know there are no attachments for this weapon yet.

The SKS.

800px-SKS.png

SKS bayonet.

Sks-bayonet.jpg

This attachment can decorate your weapon, open canned goods, and you can use it to stab your victims.

Where to find it? : You can find it at most residential areas like two story buildings, schools, hospitals (( maybe )). Also can be found in general military areas , (( Police stations, barracks, tents )) and at Hangars.

NOTE : The wiki states : As of for now the bayonet can not be used as a bayonet, this is planned to be implemented later on and is for now only cosmetic.

Rarity? : I'd say medium.

Long Range Scope

Scope.png

Rarity explanained :

Light/Very light rarity : Can be found pretty much anywhere, to small houses and fire stations, to military bases and airfields.
Medium rarity : Cannot be found anywhere, mostly found in two story buildings, fire stations, military bases, airfields.
Rare : Can only be found in military camps, police stations, general military areas, airfields or airstrips.
Very Rare : Very small chance of finding it, mostly or ONLY found in military tent's or barracks.

Some of your information is incorrect, by far, i have found Suppressors in the School in Elektro, Bayonets in fire station  Hanguards in the shops, it's good effort though

Nice, very well presented but there are a few errors.

1 - RIS handguard provides a small accuracy increase.

2 - Magpul Handguard provides a significant accuracy increase. When paired with the MP Buttstock the M4 is VERY accurate.

3 - CQB Buttstock increases weapon manoeuvrability at the cost of Mid range accuracy.

4 - LRS does not crack when damaged

5 - Atlas Bipod does not increase accuracy when crouched. Being crouched alone increases accuracy. Has to be extended to gain benefit when prone.

6 - Both the TN3 RDS and M68 CompM2 optics crack when damaged

7 - M9A1 Bayonet can be used as a Melee weapon (in Hand, not on Rifle)

8 - Currently Red Dot sights do work without a battery.

When I did my comparison tests all parts used were in pristine condition so I totally agree that the condition will affect accuracy of attachments.

nice guide, this will help a lot of people new to the game!

Yeah, I hope so. I didn't write everything about the attachments because of the lack of time.

Do you guys need a map?

Great guide mate, just wanna say, you might wanna organize it better with spoiler tags, so people can configure it easily, epsecially when we get more weapons :)

But please do not add a map, merely describe the places it can be found.
It should not be to easy :D

Alright.  Thanks. :)

PS. Do you need spoilers on gun or on everything. AKA attachments and weapons?

I was thinking the spoilers could be for each weapon.

So basicly you scroll down the list, find the weapon you want and click SPOILER to see the weapon + attachments + possible info :)

Just to make it easier to find what you need.

Small example :)

BIG ASS HANDGUN NAME

*Picture of gun*

*Gun info*

*attachments*

NEXT BIG ASS HANDGUN NAME

*Picture of gun*

*Gun info*

*attachments*

That way it will be very very easy to find your weapon, and the info you need :) And it wont end up being a giant scroll post, when we get 30+ weapons :)

Coz atm, its already quite abit to scroll through, if you dont need that info.

This guide has alot of potential, but needs some cleaning to make it super easy to use tbh :)

Great guide! For your information speed-loaders. Load your weapon, magnum or shotgun, with 'loose' rounds. When you need to reload your weapon the speed-loader acts like a magazine for like you would use for the M4 or .45 allowing you to reload by pushing R or using the middle mouse wheel.

It is rumored that having a bipod deployed while not prone will make you less accurate.

Also, bayonet and suppressors/silencers will be functional at some point, just not now ;)
