How to know what is better? From this two

So I found 2:

 

UK Assault Vest Khaki, Condition: Pristine

 

and

 

Tactical Vest, Condition: Pristine

 

Looks the same to me, and both have the same amount of space. So is it the same, only depends on my taste or? Or is there a winner her in terms of protection?

Well the DayZ wiki has this to say about the Tactical vest: "The tactical vest is a great variant on the regular vest that is best used for close-quarters combat and city exploration. By providing ample storage space and heavy-duty survival fabrics, this vest should be a no-brainer in most survival gear sets." and this about the Assault vest: "The assault vest is perfect for offensive and defensive situations, providing ample pockets for ammunition and weapon modifications." Sounds to me like the Tactical vest offers more protection.

To me, the vests should be identical in all but appearance. Which one you use should just be down to personal preference (i.e. one that suits your gear theme).

I would assume the tactical vest gives you some sort of protection against low caliber rounds hitting you at low velocity.. (.45 or .357 that lost some velocity)

That makes exactly zero sense.

 

To me, the vests should be identical in all but appearance. Which one you use should just be down to personal preference (i.e. one that suits your gear theme).

Apparently gear can be ruined if it gets too wet. Tactical vest should be superior in this regard. Maybe that applies to things inside it as well.
