Before I quit Dayz I have some parting words

Recommended Posts

You were warned about the state of the game when you bought it:

"WARNING: THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS ALPHA. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME FUNCTIONING."

And that has what to do with the frequency and depth of updates?  Sorry, but that has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted, nice try though with the quote and everything, it makes you look like you have no idea what you're responding to.

No you're right, the official forum for DayZ must be on all three of those and not here, right?  Care to post any other stupid shit?  You're not doing your signature much justice.

Sure, I can post stupid shit all night. :)

If you take a look in the right section you might see that there actually have been updates. Point still is that the dev team communicates A LOT with the community, and in many different places. Just because you doesn't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I thought this was a topic to make him or her appreciate on what a good community we are, especially if he/she's really leaving ... After reading these negative responses, I'm disappointed.

Someone has gotten there panties in a wad. :P The Devs are doing just fine....

I'm not saying they are doing a bad job, but they certainly aren't putting out even an update a week.  Even if it's something absolutely stupid that could wait until the 23rd hour, like improved rain textures.  They should be updating the game, every week, whether it's one simple line of code, or a new feature, or one little AI tweak.

Sorry, but that's how games that are being developed, publicly, should be done.  If they weren't prepared to put out significant updates, in response to tester feedback, through their own bug reporting system, they shouldn't have done a full release, alpha or not.  Just because you put a disclaimer and a coding tag on something doesn't make it any different of a situation.  There are still significant gameplay bugs listed on the bug report as LOW priority, which are gamebreaking bugs.

That is slack at its absolute definition.

Point is you weren't actually making an intelligent response, so yeah, back under your bridge, troll.  They're doing it other places, NOT at ALL with the community in their OWN place, that makes absolutely no sense.  So please, kindly, go back to attempting to be somewhat intelligent like your hoity toity signature boasts.

Hmmmmm......Ok well you make a fair point now. Also, a lot of the changes though don't take a simple line of code or simple layer of textures/meshes. :3

My signature implies that I am dumb. Surely someone with your intellect wouldn't miss that?

In the retail business we say a silent complainer is the worst. Someone who complains out loud is going to be a repeat customer when we fix the problems.

Let the naysayers leave to only come back in 2015 and pay $60.

@TIC321

This place is full of fanboi trolls that see no point in having any remote inclination of an actual conversation or dialogue.

Don't be a moron. That's not the point at all.

It's entirely the point. You bought the game after being warned that it's in a state, if the progress toward it not being in a state is not fast enough for you then you should wait until it's finished.

Maybe if the developers would be more vocal with the player base it would give me a reason to stay. it's been a whole month and they've only come out with a pistol. They are taking really really long to impliment simple things like weapons. Good luck Dayz SA, i'll be going back to LoL.

They are working are more difficult problems, like server stability so they can add more dynamic items (loot, Zombies, animals). Also, wild animals, hunting, cooking and then cars. Stuff that takes a lot more time than weapons. Weapons aren't something they need to start adding, maybe that's what would make some testers happy. We are here to test the game.

Sorry, but that argument has no logic to it.  Just because it's an alpha doesn't mean they should be putting out updates at a snail's pace.  Try again.

Geezus, why don't y'all stop trying to see who's dick is bigger already? Replying back at someone saying they're imprudent doesn't make you any smarter.

It hasn't even been a month yet(just under actually) and some are here bitching about it's taking too long? Are you guys children serious?

You people seriously must be trolling or have a severe case ADHD. You paid for an Alpha and I really don't think you know what that means or what it takes to develop a game.

As far as making the community aware through proper channels... The community IS Reddit, DayZgame, Twitter, Facebook and anywhere they feel like posting it, to update them all is redundant.

If I don't see it here I check elsewhere, is that too difficult a task for you to muster?

Opinions are fine but some just come across as whining children that haven't a clue.

Cool.  It's called an agenda, they need to make one, and start eliminating things from lists.  Yes they want to do a whole list of things, get one one of them working and put it in.  Then get the next one in.  Honestly it just looks like they're spreading all of their assets out to do it all at once, and aren't getting anything done.  The game doesn't need huge updates every month or two, it needs updates weekly.  If they aren't fixing things weekly, they need to step it up.

Anyone here making the "It's an alpha" argument, fails to realize that their argument doesn't make any sense, because there's never going to be a release date.  Arma 3 didn't "release" on Sept. 12, 2013.  Arma 3 released as an "Alpha" on March 5, 2013.  Just like DayZ released already, on December 16th.  You can keep spouting off about this being an alpha, but the fact of the matter is, when they change the absolutely meaningless title to a "Beta", it won't make any difference in my argument.  If they're putting out updates in a "Beta" 8 months from now, every 2 months, that would be ridiculous.  Just because it's an "Alpha" doesn't mean they should have an entire year of the game being released and available to the public for purchase to get the game in a mostly finished state.  Any MMO that ever says it's "finished" is obviously lying, tweaks and updates always need to be made.

Guys, let him go...

He paid, he played, he trolled and we lol'd. I'm glad he's leaving, he must have got tired of trolling in game... A patch will hit, and he will regret leaving... I've just never personally grown with a game off alpha, and this will be one that I can truly say "I was there"

"maybe that's what would make some testers happy".  We are paying customers, not game testers. Game testers would imply we are getting paid. Why would anyone buy a "GAME" (GAME implies fun) to test and become bored with its lack of updates/content? Please don't post your opinion anymore on my form.
