fulipes 15 Posted January 14, 2014 In the finished game, I would love to see military loot being more rare than in the Dayz mod. Let's face it, it's not like the apocalypse started yesterday. Military loot is what people go for in the first place, so it should be very difficult to find an automatic weapon.I know people have a lot of bolt action rifles, shotguns and handguns in europe, so those (when implemented in game) should be much, MUCH more frequent finds than assault rifles.I even saw a glimpse of night vision goggles being created for the game; try finding suiteable batteries for those in a zombie apocalypse! I'd love to see this game going in a direction where it becomes a survival MMO, rather than an army simulator with zombies.
TedZ 424 Posted January 14, 2014 Yes, me too, totally agree, the loot is too easy to find.
fundan@gmx.de 82 Posted January 14, 2014 If there will be 20 (or whatever) weapons with 3 attachments and 2 magazine (sizes) and different ammo - each in 5 possible conditions...you`ll have a hard time to find the matching parts for your weapon - is my guess. blackberrygoo 1416 Posted January 14, 2014 Id say to decrease military spawns just a bit .... They should be rare but not so rare that a dedicated "3 hour a day " player couldn't find one military weapon in a week ... I mean in real life our first goal isn't to go get armed with military weapons , it could take months to acquire such an armory of weapons in a real apocalypse . That being said I think the loot balance is a bit trickier than "decrease loot or increase Loot" the system so far works just needs to be decreased just a bit(maybe with other factors playing into it too), and maybe when barricading and building player made structures comes in all the people eho play 24/7 with badass guns won't seem so tough anymore cuz some people will have fortified castles and shit , that should even the playing field out a bit cuz as we all know we all don't have time to be searching forever for a weapon considering any weapon can kill, people are just picky
Katana67 2907 Posted January 14, 2014 The problem's compounded by the fact that they've increased the number of barracks while simultaneously keeping the barracks as the sole spawners of high-end loot. Personally, I don't really care about military loot being rare. I don't think it should be common, but an AK shouldn't be god's gift to man. My entire post history has been almost solely devoted to having a reasoned approach to weapon spawns. One can just as easily drop someone with a Mosin than with an AK or an AR. Likewise, I never understood the whole equation with certain weapons being more prestigious than others. Maybe it's just because I'm an American, and seeing assault rifles in people's gun safes is common, but I don't really prioritize an AR-15 as "badass", "high-end", or "military". It's just a weapon. Granted, it's alpha, there are very few weapons and I expect much work to be done with regard to tweaking the loot spawns.
gangrenetvp 74 Posted January 14, 2014 I didn't find my first gun until i was about 6-7 hours into the game... I like that level of difficulty finding guns and such.

Idiots. Using special type of energy sources hinders the enemies use of equipment they might get their hands on. Hopefully europeans are smarter.But.. ..note taken. I still think night vision is a bit off the top when it comes to zombie apocalypse. Not saying it's wrong, just saying it's not what I hope to see. And for the AK-47, it's ok. I think many czech gun cabinets have those. But not ACOGs and silencers. Or loads of ammo.

It looks like they've chosen to model the AN/PVS-7B. However I also checked out a bunch of Russian and Eastern European night vision devices. LOMO Recon 2: uses 2x AA batteries. LZOS ON 1x20: uses 2x AA batteries. KATOD MNV-K: uses 1x AA battery. Older 1st-generation devices use unavailable batteries but it seems like most newer devices are more standardized.
