Doomraker 0 Posted June 22, 2012 What are some really good tips for a guy who has only watched the game but never started a character?
TheSexyGoat 5 Posted June 23, 2012 Well, learn the controls of the game before playing, play some tutorials. That's gonna help. Just do whatever you saw on the videos, be sneaky, loot everything you can. That's about it I guess.Oh! I wouldn't trust anyone with a gun.
beavaroo 90 Posted June 24, 2012 Take some yoga lessons; when the inevitable happens you will be able to kiss your ass goodbye! As TheSexyGoat suggested, the tutorials in Single Player\Boot Camp, in ArmA 2, should be your first step.DON'T RUSH IT.

clintmbaptiste@gmail.com 2 Posted June 24, 2012 DIE! over and over and over! till you learn from your mistakes.Learn what is safe and isn't safe.It may be frustrating but once you figure it out its smooth sailing and will make you a much better player in the end.Or you can cheat and look at my guide, which I'm sure you've already seen :)http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=20578
Asinine 0 Posted June 24, 2012 From what I have learned so far you need to be sneaky sneaky. If shit goes down RUUUUUN!!!If you see another player... RUUUUUN!! (I tried playing nice but it tends to be a matter of time till they decide your gear is worth more to them than your help)As far as what you need to do I found that sneaking into a city quickly grabbing supplies GTFO of the city like a bat out of hell heading inland for as long as you can (Take food and water) and grab supplies when you find any small villages.I'm new too but this has been the way I have played. daniel88 0 Posted June 24, 2012 Top tip I was given when I first started playing was to pick up a couple of tin cans. Before you have a weapon you may need to get into a building where there's a zombie just idling like a mofo. You can throw them and the sound acts as a distraction which will draw them out of their position, so you can sneak in and grab the loot!
DefoneESP 17 Posted June 24, 2012 after you learn the basic Arma controls, and get in game...Keep respawning until you start near a large city (Elektro or Cherno), move in and locate any of the followingSuper Market - good place to get a large quantity of food and water, also may find Ammo or sidearms (1911, revolver, makarov) even specialty items like watches, flashlights etc.Church - An assortment of different items, ive found ammo, food/drink, weapons/ammo and even camo clothingFire Station - you have a good chance of looting high powered weapons and other military gear out of these places ive found MP5, 870 shot guns, AKs, M16/M4s, Glock 17, PDW, M9s etc., even NVGs, binoculars, camo clothing, E-tools, Only problem with those places is they are usually populated by either zed or worse.. other players, be quick and stealthy, dont draw attention to that area, and always scout for a few minutes to see if anyone is in the location you are attempting to loot.. also if you are gonna be in a large town go at night, adjust the gamma/contrast on your graphics options to a higher setting, most new players dont and end up running around with a chem light/road flare attached to them and they stick out like a sore thumbONLY PLAY WITH THOSE YOU TRUST.. ive been backstabbed more times by other players then actual zombies, so I live by 1 rule.. If i cant avoid you, then im going to kill younothing personal, i havent always played that way but all these new players have changed the way most everyone views any contact with other survivors
unknown..2..u 0 Posted June 24, 2012 You don't get a character you get an avatar, then he dies and you get another one etc so on and so forth. The game is to try and stay alive, nothing more.
