There are about 3 parts so far and it really makes me conclude that this game has quite a lot of potential when it comes to sounds and makes me realize how important this really is.

I think the constant birds and brush rattling in the forest may be too often, but sounds nice.

The zombie sounds are a little odd, but I do think they need some new ones.

And lastly, a little too windy in the houses.

All in all, very nice.

Sound like this is essential for the game to flourish. I'm sick of hearing the same background noise looping everywhere I go. Every time I hear the fence rattle, regardless of whether there is a fence within a mile of me, I always look around in a panic. Then I remember, oh yeah, sound doesn't mean a thing in this game aside from a few distinct exceptions; namely firing weapons, cracking soda cans, munching/drinking food, and walking on random overly load floor paneling. It's the opposite of immersion, and the sound in it's current state is suspiciously similar to WarZ.

Yeah definitely. I have the same thing happen to me when I played the mod. It seems that the ambiance sounds are just randomly generated without it happening from someone or something (Such as a fence rattling when nothing's there)

Yeah, it's a lazy way of making the sound seem more dynamic than it actually is. It was okay for the mod, but it isn't for SA. Obviously the game is in alpha, but I hope to see improved sound soon!

The forest sounds very good from role play perspective.

But from pvp perspective it will gieve you feeling that someone is constantly sneaking up to you becouse of those rustled bushes sounds, even if noone is rustling around. Those making playing with pvp in mind very tiresome.

PS.

And those birds sounds will make you not hear when someone is actually realy sneaking up to you.

In my opinion you should only hear birds when there are birds around, and you should only hear fences rattling when someone, or something, is brushing against them. Would be great for PvP and role playing. Certainly it's a challenge in terms of development, but this is DayZ SA we're talking about. Settle for nothing!

You are asking way too much from devs that have a small crew and low funds!

Didn't they just make like 20million? Hire more people with tons of money left over

Low funds? DayZ took in over 12 million dollars in its first week. That isn't an acceptable excuse anymore. Much more should be expected from them now. This type of attitude enables the devs to keep making tons of money on an essentially unfinished project. They could stop now and DayZ SA could be considered a financial success. Don't suggest that we are willing to settle for a project that isn't finished. They might not be motivated to improve the game further if they are already making tons of money and they feel that fans aren't expecting any more from them. This aint WarZ. DayZ will include features that it's fans demand. If we don't push for a better game, we won't get a better game.

Low funds???? Errrr the game has taken in $28,677,330 at the time I write this. Are you not aware of how many copies this game has sold? There is no excuse for that anymore like Solopopo said. We're nearly at 1million players a mere month or so after release. At the rate of new players, we will hit a million plus before the end of next week. More players=more money but also means more expectations.

I like the creepy ambient sounds in the houses, that eerie wind blowing sound has always freaked me out. Definitely adds to the atmosphere.

Why not just bump the creator's post instead of reposting his work?

Wasn't aware of it. A link would be appreciated. Besides, it's credited in the original topic.
