As above - people who stream and/or upload videos aren't any different from other players and definitely shouldn't recieve any exclusive items IMO.

Aside from the popular answer of 'everybody being equal', which I agree with. People would hunt down players specificially wearing that vest just to make broadcasters and Youtubers extremely butthurt.

I don't know why people freak out about the idea. Press vest is useless compared to other vests, on that sense streamers would be disadvantaged even. What the fuck is with equality like it's a godmode item or something? I don't even pickup those vests.

 

I also agree with press hunters, but that happens anyway so I don't think vest really matters.

I know guys it was just an idea and a pretty cool one at that. The way I see it though why wouldn't the streamers just go pick it up and have fun with it anyway, doesn't have to be exclusive for them to make it useful. That could be the thing for streamers and such.

Maybe because it's an interceptor vest that can protect you from small arms. Also we don't need to feed the egos of prima donna streamers that think they are unique special snowflakes with special items and incentives.

I don't want to hate on youtubers, I love watching their videos. But honestly, how should this work?

 

Who is considered to be a youtuber, or considered worthy?

I have a youtube account, but I don't (yet) publish videos.

Restriction on the number of subscribers?

What if the person doesn't really make DayZ videos, or is famous for something else (eg Minecraft)?

 

A lot youtubers change their ingame name so people don't constantly jump around them, I doubt those people want a vest.

 

How is the item handed out? At spawn?

What happens if the character is killed, does it drop?

 

Even if all the questions above are solvable, does the time spent implementing this feature justify the result?

 

As good as the idea might look on the first glimpse (which I don't think it does), I really don't see any benefit in implementing this.

Steamers are no better than anyone else, exclusive stuff for streamers is a stupid idea, I stream and I do NOT want any kind of special treatment.
