Or just join a GOOD PVE server. That have admins

There is no such thing as a PvE server.  Admins who try to punish players who PvP will be shot.

Don't worry. He is also a complete and utter liar, since server host companies doesn't interfer with private server rules. Server owners can kick and ban players to their hearts delight as long as they pay their bills.

Absolute bollocks.  There are no private servers, they have to abide by the rules or they wont have their precious little servers anymore. How much they pay is irrelevant. Paying a monthly fee gives you no special rights to introduce PvE and kick players who PvP.

Has anyone else come across this kind of player? Would be interesting to hear your stories too.

I've had people combat log on me when all I had was a baseball bat and running around like an idiot in my underwear...and they actually had guns...go figure.

Combat logging/hopping/ghosting are all things slated to be addressed during the development. For now we have to deal with. It basically.

Really? I have had a couple of servers in other games and, and except for the legal niceties clause I have never encountered any company that dictated game policies to server owners. Usually they let the market take care of server owners who adhere to unacceptable server policies. I am assuming this doctrine is something special to DayZ then, and I must admit, even though I personally wouldn't want to play on a PvE server, that the concept of this kind of authoritarianism over server owners is a bit silly.

It's part of the server rules that DayZ server operators agree to. If you're interested these are the rules for Dayz mod server operators which basically mirror SA rules, disregarding things that don't apply or that refer to non-implemented features.

In most games if you can prove that admins are being abusive and simply kicking/banning because someone killed them or they don't want to lose, there are disciplinary actions in place to deal those abusive admins.

Whoops, forgot to add the link:

Thanks, I will check it out, though I am not considering making a server for DayZ atm.

And regarding the second thing, of course. I was talking about server owners setting up their own written server rules and adhering to them (no spawncamping, only use certain classes etc etc depending on the game). If the rules they make are too strict or retarded, the market will automatically take care of it, since noone would want to visit their servers anyway, but of course blatant abuse, and generally using server privilige powers to your own advantage is an entirely different thing (usually included in the legal niceties that you have to sign).

I think we'll see more fleshed out rules for the SA specifically as development progresses but unless I'm mistaken most of the applicable rules from hosting mod servers applies to the SA as well.

There has to be some kind of control, the mod taught everyone that.

The moment you allow admins to dictate their servers they turn DayZ into custom loadouts (especially if you donate), high end military spawns and eventually 1000's of vehicles.  The game gets watered down until it doesnt resemble the vanilla DayZ at all.  Not to mention kicking players who kill them or raid their bases.

Private servers will be allowed one day i am sure but if using the Public Hives the admins will have to abide by the rules.

Only had the game 3 days but I can relate. Maybe the devs could put a hotel resort and casino at Balota airsrip, to keep the guns & ammo

campers occupied while they wait for noobs to shoot.

Balota airstrip = Guns & ammo bottleneck/team deathmatch.

A few days ago my sent my friend down to get some supplies while I cover him with a scoped mosin

We had scoped the area well and thought it safe, he gets shot by 3 guys

I take some shots at them and two of the 3 head into the woods while the other runs around in the open

Can't spot the other 2....why? Because they just logged in behind me

I hear multiple reloading and turn around to see they both are drawing their m4s as they just server hopped behind me

I logged out myself, I look for a legit fight when I'm in combat and the moment they cheat I'm out of there

Could have done the same and ghosted them, but I'm not that kind of player

When you return fire make sure you kill before they can log ^^. This happened to me today, NW airfield guy shooting at me and a friend so I turn on him and pop 2 mosin rounds into his body, he then logs but I'm sure his dead when he comes back on.

I like the spawn campers, you spawn take 3 steps "POW" dead. Happened to me the first time i played, got popped 3 times, then i just changed servers.  I'm used to Battlefield so it didn't really phase me, just mildly annoyed.

The only thing more cowardly than a combat logger is someone who is so scared to die and so in love with their gear that they have to hide on an illegitimate server with admins to protect them from an integral part of the gameplay.

Only players I've encountered so far in SA were new players, but I did have a similar situation in the mod in the same area. Although they didn't combat log and it was 4 people in the time span of 5 minutes, rather fun when I came out on top.

I thought they had, in a recent patch, made it so that you die/lose your character if you log out while handcuffed or unconscious?

Has always been this way.
