Taking out a weapon, then the char hides it automatically

Recommended Posts

Just died because I tried to switch to a magnum from a mosin. My char decided to auto-hide the magnum for no reason. (That Alpha...)

Anyway, I've been having that a lot lately when switching weapons. My char hides a rifle, takes out the axe, then hides the axe again, and I got zombie hits. Item manipulation was supposedly fixed in the last patch. :D

you need to first lower your weapon (with "space" key) before switching to another weapon, or this bug will occur ;)

That's why you should always have it up in your hands ;]

And try to shoot a guy in front of me with a LR scoped mosin? Not the best idea.

Then again, changing to sidearm didn't pay of even.

Didn't know that, thanks.

EDIT: (lowering your current item has proven to help)

If using the hotbar:

1. Hold down the key until the item is revealed.

2. If nothing happens after 5 seconds let go and tap once.

(repeat as necessary)

Safest way ATM:

(while looking at the inventory screen)

1.Press the red [x] if you are holding something currently.

(If not skip to #2.)

2.Drag and drop items in your hands.

Don't get me wrong but you need to scout more so that you can avoid these tight spots. Take my advice or not it does not matter but but I have ran into similar situations and most of the time the other character froze if I had a gun[if you have it up in your hands and you stop it looks like you are aiming directly at them causing them to freeze and think about what to do], whereas if you had no gun and you both ran into each other, the other guy will KoS you.

Supporting evidence: Ran into 2 armed guys yesterday but having gun up and aimed saved me. They said don't shoot don't shoot and we calmed down.
