Hi, is it possible to change my ingame name? I don't want to run around with my steam name....

You'll have to change your steam name.

You can always change your steam name back.

Ted is totally right,..I have done the very same myself to play under a different name to my account holders name. its not at all difficault to do either

I had the weirdest thing. I had a Steam account with some games, but forgot the login info. The remember password mail wouldn't arrive, I didn't want to wait so I made a new account to buy DayZ. I login on Steam using the new account and open DayZ like that, and, guess what; my character has the name of my other Steam account :/

You can change your profile name which will change your DayZ name

 

This doesn't have to be the same as your steam account name

is working for me ;)

i doing only one time after i read about to see if is true thing

i change name in steam profile start dayz and my character was reset to default Asian woman etc no loot beach spawn  i play 5 minute then log out close game :thumbsup:  :rolleyes:

after put name back to original steam profile name and open dayz and old charcter man with mosin is wait for me :thumbsup: :ph34r:

was maybe 3 days ago i doing i don't think is update happen since then

best thing is try after you die so you losing nothing ;)

maybe is possible infinite character depend only on imaginate for new steam profile name :D

Go to your Steam Account, Profile-Edit Profile and then simply type in the new name you want, then Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Do you know the email you used to sign up for Steam and receive emails from Steam?  You should.  Check that email and then make sure it's not being filtered out as spam or something else.  If you're using the new Gmail, it has new automatic filters (tabs) that categorize your email, check those and check your spam folder.

 

Steam was experiencing some network issues recently, so I would try again.  It makes no sense for you to create a new Steam account to play DayZ, unless there was some sort of funny business associated with that account.

Ok thx, I try It when I die, because I have really sweet loot of my life and I don't want to risk it (M4+6 full mags, water bottles, food, uniform etc.)

Dont work... after rename themenu screen shows no char, but if u connect to a server your "old" char get loaded. looks like u cant have more then one
