books and bayonets ?

OK, I'm new to day z.  I've seen a lot of books everywhere and keep wondering .. what they're about. Also lucked out and found an m4 and bayonet. I've also seen people with bayonets on mosins, are they useable as bayonets, or just decorations?

As for the moment, they are just decorations/can openers.

The books are for...well...reading.

about bayonets you are right, its only like deco

books you can only read, nothing more

Bayonets are only able to open cans at the moment but I'm sure they will be functional soon. As for books, you can actually read them ingame, although I've only heard of bandits forcing people to read them out for amusement purposes.

Bayonet melee hasn't been implemented yet but will come at some point.

 

Though you can use them as weapons in your hands, plus they can be used as can openers.

wow, thanks for all the fast replys .. might need to pick up a book and read (provided its not in Russian :/  )

Talking about books.

I can't find "The Art of War" anywhere and it pisses me off beyond measure.
