    weapon suggestion "Desert eagle"

Good point. However, regarding a post soviet scenario with BMPs etc. the AK (in general) is essential.

    weapon suggestion "Desert eagle"

There's only one weapon that perfectly fits the scenario: the Автомат Калашникова

    DayZ makes me feel sick

I noticed same with my girlfriend, she can't watch me play even when I go 1337 :D

    DayZ makes me feel sick

Sometimes, the tension when playing DayZ is so damn high, my heart goes apeshit. Might be a general medical problem that causes you to fell sick... You mentioned you did experience same when playing Dead Island.

What has the standalone become ?

Man, I really do HOPE you're right. Without doubt, DayZ offers you the best experience when it comes to firefights in a first-person-scenario. IMO it's the most realistic FPS out there. Anyway, I don't ... play it as such. It's a zombie-survival-game. I'd rather walk for 30 minutes to combat-rescue an injured buddy @ the NW-airfield than camp it with a mosin. I'd rather try to sneak past Zeds at moonlight, than claim to be "friendly" and empty my m4-clip the next second. I'd rather give away my last bandage to a fresh spawn, than set up for him... I understand PVP is an important part of DayZ and always will be. Still, it could be so much more than a thrilling combat sim.

    WTF are with the Books?

wtf are with the doublepost? besides this, there's a lot of interesting books in DayZ. i recommend 'call of cthulhu' if you're in for some classic horror novel..

    Update Rev. 0.36.115535 (Experimental branch)

Great. As if it wasn't enough that i get a heart attack everytime someone enters my room when I run through Chernarus @ night...

How the heck do i play this?

Hamplaser I think that's the reason for you going prone when trying to WALK. Most probably you don't own any morphine. Applying morphine will fix your broken joints (however that works). Other than that, check your keyboard settings... I didn't experience any of your problems when I started playing Day-Zee.

    Deathloop not fixed.

joining a server running an older dayz-version might help. worked for me.
  10. Dr.Blomquist

    books and bayonets ?

You can open cans with the bayonet.

    My kingdom for a pack

That's a bit off topic, but I am experimenting to survive WITHOUT a backpack. What do you really need to carry on? I would say: a can-opener, saline bags, a canteen, bandages and some ammo. Plus alcohol to clean wounds. Ever thought about that? The medical shit can be added to a first-aid-kit (just put saline bags and bandages in it, dump the rest), ammo can be stuffed inside west/pants/jacket. Can-opener, alcohol and compass... should be enough space left to storage it. Keeping in mind that you should eat every peace of food that you find right away, keeps your demand for inventory-space pretty low. Advantages are: you spoil every bandits looting fun, your prone-signature will improve... just a thought.

The blue bus is calling us

i enjoyed reading your story, q. no other game (i know of) can deliver such an intensive gaming experience like DayZ does.

    hero-skin & ghillie-suit

    thanks for your replies, guys.

    hero-skin & ghillie-suit

the question is: when i reach 5K humanity, will i keep my ghillie + the ALICE-pack with all the equipment? or will it AUTOMATICALLY change the skin and the backpack (i wanna keep my ghillie on)?
