CaptRandom (DayZ) 5 Posted January 8, 2014 I was playing and sitting inside a house listening to shots trying to figure out where somebody was at in Elektro. I was sitting in one of the buildings across the street from one of the firehouses. I occasionally would check if someone was grabbing water and after a while I did catch someone who then saw me in the window. He said he was friendly and don't shoot, blah blah. He didn't have a weapon on his back so I just watched him go around the corner then decided to move positions because my spot was blown. Sure enough, a few minutes later I hear him come back with someone else and I hear them talking over going in the building I was in.I sneak up behind them out of sight and just keep an eye on them. He goes in and doesn't find me and starts mouthing off how I must have combat logged. I almost felt like shooting his buddy in the back of the head just to prove a point but chose not to so the guy sniping didn't hear me. I'm curious to know how many people actually see a player combat log and disappear or just assume they did because the player they saw moved and they can't find them again. Dayzplayer2 15 Posted January 8, 2014 Yea I only consider it combat logging if the person is threatened by me or my friends and then instantly vanishes before our eyes. Please fix this guys. There is only two things in the damn game and that's rob or be robbed and you can't rob shit ATM, only kos to rob.
Irenicus (DayZ) 289 Posted January 8, 2014 Combat logging happens when you are being shot at, you weren't in combat so couldn't have combat logged anyway lol.
Flight96 99 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Combat logging happens when you are being shot at, you weren't in combat so couldn't have combat logged anyway lol. This is very true to an extent. However people also consider if you're being run up on by a group that outnumbers you and you log out a combat log. They're both pussy moves in my opinion. To the OP: Considering you obviously didn't log out and heard they're entire bitch fit then you were playing the game fair, i just would've killed them all lol. Dchil 829 Posted January 8, 2014 I would have said over direct "Think again idiot" and blown his brains out with a 357 (or whatever gun i had) if i had done that and heard it.

Anyhow, I would've done the same. Would have killed both just to see what they will say in voice.
bad_mojo (DayZ) 1204 Posted January 8, 2014 Hackers and combat loggers! It's always the hackers and combat loggers!
DevilDog (DayZ) 455 Posted January 8, 2014 I had a similar thing happen to me. Before the spawn moved I used to walk the streets of Elektro and wave to my neighbors and welcome people to my fine city. Well a guy comes running out of the grocery store like he stole a candy bar so I wave. He ran back in. I continue to walk. Then he comes out with a pistol drawn so I turn the corner. Then I see his friend coming out from behind some bushes with an M4 and I high tail it (I only had a .45). He opens fire and I am hit. I run through the back and rounds are hitting everywhere. I run out of the bank across the street around some buildings and I am thinking they are on my tail and got me. I stop to bandage up before I die and hear them saying I must have logged out cause they couldn't find me lol. Suckers. I have honestly never had anyone combat log on me. CaptRandom (DayZ) 5 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Combat logging happens when you are being shot at, you weren't in combat so couldn't have combat logged anyway lol.Why would it not be combat logging to save yourself from being axed while your eating something, etc.? I've had people chase after me before and I could have easily just logged out instead of running away. I'm less interested in story time or complaints about combat logging. I'm just interested in how often people actually see someones body disappear because they alt-f4'ed or just assumed they bailed because they left and weren't seen again. I just wanted to see what percentage of the time people actually see the player disappear. For all the complaining thats done about this topic, it never occured to me before that people might just be assuming someone combat logged because they can't find someone anymore. From the looks at the small sample so far, most people watch the player alt-f4 out. Edited January 8, 2014 by CaptRandom
