Metropolis or large urban city?

Recommended Posts

Obviously I don't mean right away, but perhaps in a future content update or large expantion.  A large mega city like New York or the like.

A large abandonded mega city with enterable skyscrapers and other buildings. Trashed cars all over the streets. Natural growth such as plants and weeds erroding the city (think Life After People series). Theaters and restaurants. An underground subway system in complete darkness with crazy amount of zombies.

What do you think? Would it not be awesome to have a large city to scrounge for supplies, kill zombies, and make refuge?

Keep technical and lore issues (chernarus being soviet and rural and stuff) asside.

Tell me you dont want to explore this place... I dare you.

Obviously I'd like to have that, like many others.

But it would have to fit to the map and engine (technical). Dreams are one thing. Realizing them ... perhaps new maps will come.

Regardless: I do think the new Cherno is already doing a good job more or less providing that feeling. You could add some more buildings in between, but it's way better and feels more natural than before. And the current map is not final as I hear left and right, so, who knows...

But I don't really expect to see a "New York type of city" here. Perhaps in a modded variant, if these will be allowed.

I wouldn't mind it if they add more houses between Churno and Electro.

Since editing the map might spawn you back on the coast they could do it when they decide to add buildings to the northern unfinished towns.

Large urban seems out of place to me.

If they enlarged the map significantly, sure I would like to see more varied landscapes.

Mountains to the North, a large inland city with interesting urban environments (maybe even looking a bit touristy).

I can't see anywhere on the current map where I would stick anything bigger than a camp, it is already clustered with small villages.

It's all about diversity :D So that one map can fit all play styles.

But maybe you're lucky and they flesh out Cherno even more (I doubt it though)

There is a massive area for a giant city in the far north along the train tracks.

Currently there are roads there already placed along the fields. I bet they're just place holders but there is certainly more than enough space in that valley area.

Other wise there is pretty much nothing aside from fields in that area anyways

They could just add a hub of player created maps for the radical ideas.

At its most stable, I wonder if the game could support a map up to 4x larger....

We just need a city

Have you been in cherno and elektro? I get like 20 fps, I can't imagine lower end pc's especially with a city like that.
