How about cutlass's and samurai swords!?  I'm not saying that because of walking dead or anything, but in the apocalypse you aren't going to see any more factories mass producing ammunition and eventually without the people to operate them power plants would fail and there would be no electricity on large scale levels anymore.  It would essentially be a new version of the middle ages.  Ammo would become so scarce it wouldn't even be considered an option anymore and people would have to use blacksmithing techniques to craft old world weaponry!  o, and yeah, okay, Michonne swinging around a sword and decapitating zombies is pretty cool too lol.

It's not such a bad idea. The Country I was born in had a castle, which was renovated into a museum. It stores swords, maces and armours.

How many Castles are in Chernarus? Could there be a museum? Would be cool, don't ya think?

Swords would be an extremely usefull in a zombie apocalypse, because the zombies have no protection, don't dodge and sharpen the sword is easy. I would like them added as a high end melee weapon(with matching scabbard please)

Katanas don't really make sense for the setting other than as a collector's item.  And to quote Max Brooks 'You really need to be a Samurai to use a Samurai sword effectively.'  Most midevil swords would be the same, collectors items or replicas, not the real deal, and the real deal would probably be rusted to shit.  I'd rather see a military Dress Saber/Sword, while mostly ceremonial it still functions.

I could go on and on but that $40 Katana you got at the swapmeet isn't going to be made by Hitori Hanzo from Damascus steel.

Maces can hurt YOU, just like a person using Nunchaku. Samurai Swords have a sharp edge and blunt edge. Because, the blunt edge is on one side and its what you use for blocking and the blade for slicing, not "hitting", it makes it almost impossible to use (if you smash wildly, you'll shatter the blade).... unless you dedicate yourself to the blade.... "live and die by the sword".

Samurai. There's are reason they dedicate their lives to the blade. It's not gun where you point and shoot, it's not a club that you strike people with... it's dynamic weapon that will betray you if you're not worthy. (I'm going off topic here) 

I think a simple broad sword would quench our thirst.

Nahh not as simple. I used to go into the wood with my dad as a kid. We'd take a combat knife and a bunch of string. We'd make bow's and arrows. SPEARS, throw them at tree's etc.

Surprisingly effective but... they'd only be good for a few strikes. Everyrthing gets loose, wear and tear, so to say.

Hear me out.

Rope/Duct tape 

(some sort of stick, metal pole)

Any Knife

Creates Spear... Only good for 4 strikes. 

Repair with Duct tape.. or have to manually reset with rope. 

If that's not implemented then I have no idea why I'm posting in this forum

I think we should remove all bullets and replace them with rubber bullets which don't harm you, but release more dopamine in maraijuana-like-effects so that we can all love and grace one another.

 

People wouldn't whine and moan about fixing things that aren't broken in the game then, such as Banditry, or KoS and so on.

 

But sarcasm aside, it would be nice to see swords in this game and a reduction of guns.

Why stop asking for more?  If the game can handle it, which it can, add more.   It just makes it more immersive and realistic.  Not everyone will be running around with the same red and yellow fire axe in the apocalypse.  They will find other weapons or fabricate ones themselves.  Makes it more dynamic and personal.  To many people are acting like 80 year old men not wanting to change the game they played years ago (dayz Mod) for no real reason.  This isn't changing how people play the game, it isn't punishing KOSers or rewarding heros.  It's simply giving people more options in the game to make a character like they want.  You can argue as much as you want with me about what I am about to say, but this is an MMO.  May not be fighting dark dragons and casting magic and stuff, but people still like to customize their players.  The more items in game, the more intricate, the more realistic, the better the game becomes.
