Recommended Posts

I don't want to lose my damn items and there is all sorts of random sounds popping in. Zombies, rattling chaings, gun reloading, can drinking, birds flying, what else. Sigh :]

The most IMPORTANT rule of DayZ is NEVER get attached to your gear, ever. Or else you'll start becoming extremely paranoid (as you are now) and be too scared to even play the game.

The sounds are pretty screwed up right now. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

True, today was my first time I found mosin+long range scope, I was very happy to finally see how I'm doing as a mosin sniper, I got to the roof of the tall apartment behind balota, and while trying to choose the best position I pushed the W key too hard and I fell on my ass all the way down. I even tried to log out while in the air, praying for some glitch that would somehow save my ass, didn't help. You never know what's gonna happen.

-snip-

If you aren't going to say something useful on top of being an elitist a**hole, you have no business being one.

That being said: It's an issue with the network bubble, from what I've heard, as far as player sounds (sodas opening, etc); chains opening is an ambience thing, and I don't know how to get rid of it, which annoys me; zombie noises are from glitched animals.

lol I get you bro! One time I had end game gear and I got stuck in between a rock near the coast. Then I died when I tried to move.

See I hate this suggestion. Half of the fun of the game is being paranoid someone is going to kill you and take your shit. If I wasnt attached to my gear I would basically never care about dying and it'd take all the fun out of fighting for my life because I mean what's the point right? I don't care about my stuff.

Ummm...  wow you are sensitive.  I think what he said is a very useful notion and I do not see why you think he is being an elitist a**hole with this comment.  Like please explain why this made you so emotional...

If the reload sound plays all the way through, it`s a player

Experienced this first hand when looting the barracks in Zeleno, i heard the sound of a gun reload, thought nothing of it, but when i heard the "click" sound at the end, i raised my gun, and sure enough, some poor ghoster had logged in in one of the barrack rooms and got swiss-cheesed by my m4.

I didn't post that to be "elitist" I posted it due to the fact that A LOT of people that I've seen play, and have played with go on an anger rampage due to dying and losing their gear. Being attached to your gear is fine to a degree, but not to the point where you start yelling at the top of your lungs and screaming at people.

The ambient sound mix does contain a few sounds that shouldn't be there at the moment. There's the classic "chain link fence rattle" from the mod, but now they've added a zombie bark and the sound of someone opening a can of soda. I keep hearing all three while walking around in the middle of the woods :).

For me, I just facepalm, contemplating on why.
