I don't think combat logging is acceptable in any form, ya should have stayed away from high loot areas if you don't wanna meet peeps

I agree that KoS is okay provided you aren't just shooting everything with no cause. I'm fine with proper PVP I just don't like KOS when you have the chance to have an Interesting player-interaction

 

You seem to think there is some point of view involved. Like this is one of those Obi-Wan Kenobi rationalizations.

 

Let me clear it up for you. KoS is always okay. Combat logging is never okay. And there really frankly is not a lot of room for interpretation.

A while back when I got SA, I was called JesusTM or something. I had gone straight north and got some nice kit with my clan. When they left I headed up to Green MT. to see the CDF Barracks. Then I had to go so logged out behind a bed. When I log back in there's these 2 heavily equipped guys. I start panicking and put my hands up. I type stuff like "Hi, friendly? Look I don't want trouble" "I'll give you anything you need" "Don't kill me, man". One guy pulls out his M4A1 and fires in my direction. I hit the Disconnect button, with minor injuries.

I felt annoyed that they shot at me when they had the chance to rob me or hold me prisoner. But was I right to do it? I've only been Kosed twice. Once when I was a freshie heading north when some guy shot me while I was unarmed. The next time was when I waved to a guy and had my rifle holstered and he spun around and shot me.

 

You're a self-professed bandit too though aren't you?  Is it possible you were at Green Mountain and doing a little camping yourself?

 

Regardless, Rocket has already talked about fixing the issue with combat loggers before the Alpha was actually released.  It's an easy fix that will find its way into the game sooner or later.  To be honest though, people who complain about combat loggers and server hoppers "ruining" their game, don't really get the point of Alpha.  The dev team is fully aware of it and it will be addressed.

I always combat log for two reasons:

1) the other guy can do that as well, then go behind me on another server, log back in and pop me from behind. it happens 50% of the time I engage somebody in a firefight and let him go behind cover. as long as players have the ability to log out during combat, I will not give anyone the satisfaction of abusing it to kill me;

2) I don't want to kill anyone, even when they start shooting at me first;
