methr1k2dop3 323 Posted January 4, 2014 I know this is a hot topic.But why are we only spawning on the coast again?Shouldnt it just be random?Like spawn anywhere on the map.like a one to a hundred chance to spawn in the same spot. Might get rid of this cursed coastal areas like chern, ele, and balotaa. They would be a great place to get to with out the craziness. Bandits or people that like to go and kill freshy's wouldn't have a waypoint to head to. Making it almost impractical to suicide until you spawn next to a airfield. no more coast bambies. It doesn't seem realistic at all.Currently it's saying: Everybody in the country lives close to the coast and nobody has ever ever ever lived inland.I think a random spawn would be really nice so that all of the popular areas will have a smaller population and players will be all over the entire map because at the moment when you go inland about 2k meters, it's a wasteland besides zeleno, NWAF, NEAF, berezino. serenityrick 218 Posted January 4, 2014 Think of the west (SW, W and NW) as the "endgame" of DayZ.. I say that because at the moment, the majority of military loot spawns are over there. Prior to the spawn changes, you could literally spawn right next to military base and kit yourself out within 10 minutes or less. There was no point in exploring or going anywhere else except to kill fresh spawns or camp a high traffic area. At the moment there's not a whole lot to do; can't find or fix a car, can't hunt, food and water that you find within 20 min will last you for hours, limitar crafting and no base building so I get that some people just want to find a weapon and kill people.. but I think they are trying to ween the playerbase from thinking of the game that way. If you want an M4 or Mosin you have to work for it and that may have you hoof it 40 minutes to the nearest military base. Just be happy that at the moment you can server hop to your hearts content so you can still gear yourself up rather easily (cheaply, I must add). The death match type players will be really upset once they implement a way to stop server hopping and nerf military loot spawns even more (hopefully). Why?Because limiting spawns to very small areas increases the "death match" mentality and it reduces the area that fresh spawn killers must hunt in order to grief. However I think no matter how you do it people will just suicide and spawn again to get the better spawn locations so you may as well just keep the mod spawn locations.Just add a timer so you cannot "respawn" within an hour of creating that character unless you die normally. To be honest by the time half the people have wasted 30 minutes to an hour dying over and over again to get a good spawn they probably could have found a crap load of loot anyway. Besides I think that "military" grade loot should be limited to the North and centre of the map with "civilian" grade loot spread evenly everywhere else. So spawning anywhere on the coast gives you an even chance, unless you get Cherno/elektro in which there are more chances for weapons and medical stuff, food etc... but then again it is more dangerous with the number of zombies and players. Having military stuff available from the get go is in my opinion a mistake and then we cannot condemn the spawns until all the other weapons are in the game. In the mod I could find a barn and maybe find a Lee Enfield, that weapon was good enough for me to deal with bandits, accurate with 1 shot KO, I take that! But right now it is a mess because we only have two rifles and one can be gained so close to the spawn areas. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Deathskar 0 Posted January 5, 2014 I like that "endgame" idea. I started a new character around 1pm today and spawned in the middle of the east coast. Traveled my way through the west to reach (finally) the north west. I had so much fun going through each town and exploring. Fending of Zeds and avoiding other players. It may have took me a few hours of playtime. But i enjoyed it. I dont want to dump all over the random spawn option.
