How do you fill up the re-usable green canteen?

I've gone into a pond, right clicked, only had the option to drink and cancel.

While looking at the water with the canteen in your hand use the mouse scroll wheel to select fill bottle

Still doesn't work, it doesn't come up with a fill option.  It just has drink.

Filling the canteen in a pond is bugged... it doesn't work properly.

 

You need to find a well and fill it up there.

Ah forgot to add, try it while in first person view, third person seems to have issues with ponds

I had the same problem but I was able to fill it from a well.

I had an issue while carrying multiple canteens, I had two filled to 100%, finished one off, and went to hotkey the full one. It kept cycling the empty one no matter how many times I put the full one into my hotkey bar. Eventually I said screw it and just gave the extra to a friend.. then being able to drink my precious unpurified well water.

try holding the canteen AND look away from the pond/well when you press f. That should make the fill option appear, it's what i had to do to fill my water bottle.

i found i had to have it completely empty in order for it to give the option to fill, if that helps at all.
