remembermekid 0 Posted January 3, 2014 Hi there...So I would like to play DayZ obviously. I recently purchased it, and realized that my computer was definitely not built for games as big as ARMA and DayZ. These are my specs (I have a laptop): Manufacturer: TOSHIBA Model: Satellite C855 Processor: Intel® Pentium® CPU B970 @ 2.30GHz 2.30GHz Installed Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB System Type: 64-Bit Operating System Ok, so I'm looking for new Hardware actually. I need suggestions for parts that aren't over the top in price, but are good enough for me to actually play DayZ. Thank you.-Remembermekid
hrdrok 183 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Well upgrading a laptop is a little different than a desktop. What's your GPU? Some laptops even have soldered connections. It may not be possible to even do... Edited January 3, 2014 by hrdrok
hombrecz 832 Posted January 3, 2014 in "new player discussion" forum, there is a thread "Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)"" and I believe there you can get proper answers. Anyways some i-5 4670K or i-5 3570K would do you a good service, then 8 GB ddr3 ram and graphic card like GFX 760 (or better) or Radeon HD 7870 (or better, based on your budget). Korsbaek 1778 Posted January 3, 2014 I am pretty sure you would be better of buying a new laptop or a desktop.

LetLiveEverything 1 Posted January 3, 2014 Laptop upgrades are almost impossible, at least as far as graphics go. Unless your computer used an APU, you probably have integrated, which is permanently on the board. No offense to you, honestly, but I can't understand why people who plan on playing PC games think it's fine to just play them on standard laptops.
Serova (DayZ) 174 Posted January 3, 2014 You need an entire new desktop it's too old and outdated.
hrdrok 183 Posted January 3, 2014 Your best bet is to get a mobile i7 from intel or an APU from AMD. That is really your only choice, but if it's even possible. Your "motherboard" is probably incompatible to the newer chips. Laptops, unless your built them to begin with, are limited to RAM or HD upgrades in most situations. sonicrainbrony 136 Posted January 3, 2014 You shouldnt upgrade a laptop. Just get some money and build a desktop.
