adding some more character to dayz standalone

Recommended Posts

I have been playing the dayz standalone for a couple of hours, and I thought that dayz could use some more character. I like the blood stains,  there should also be more ruined cars in the road cause the roads look empty at the moment. I loved that building in that town (I forgot what town) that had the wrecked plane crashed into it. I think there should be more of those kinds of things. (I don't mean more crashed planes I mean wrecked stuff or signs that you are in the zombie apocalypse so that you can tell that you are really in the zombie apocalypse) for example there could be some military vehicles blocking the road with road blocks, like as if the military was trying to stop the infection.  its these things that make dayz have its own stories. I do know that the game is in early alpha and I understand that I just wanted to give some suggestions. I know you have a lot of posts and if your reading this I greatly appreciate it.  :)  (I would also like to hear what you think) :D

In the mod there were wrecked Humvees and cars all over the place, and junk piles blocking the roads. It just got ridiculously annoying when driving cars, and especially at nighttime, when you bumped into piles of junk and wrecked cars all the time. I prefer the empty look of the apocalypse, but of course this is all opinions.

I understand that, and I agree, I wouldn't want to bump into stuff all the time. I meant instead of completely empty streets, 1 or 2 cars on the side of the road each like 60 meters not an extreme amount. I do respect your opinion though.

I noticed the blood stains but they need to add corpses and more blood. Right now it just looks like zombies wandered into Chernaurus over night. There needs to be more signs of the apocalypse.

It seems that having corpses lying around in game is generally frowned upon (except for the corpse pits), as it deprives from the fact that everything is player driven. Rocket mentioned something about it before when someone suggested that there  should be cars crashed into trees, with bodies lying beside it with loot. A lot of people stated that they only want player bodies, as they are sufficient in portraying an event that did in fact happen, rather then NPC bodies placed everywhere to create a false sense of "atmosphere"....  or something along those lines. Personally I agree with them.

(I don't mean to get graphic). I think these kinds of things would give you more of the feeling that you were in the zombie apocalypse. I do know that the game is in early alpha and I understand that I just wanted to give some suggestions. I know you have a lot of posts and if your reading this I greatly appreciate it.  :)  (I would also like to hear what you think) :D

+1, i had assumed they were doing this, but a lot has actually been taken out actually. The more atmosphere the better IMO.
