which type of instances would you prefer?

In the Mod there where helicopter crash sides with high military loot. What do you think? Should be something like that in the standalone?

I am thinking of different Bunker entrances, maybe 2 - 4 which will spawn randomly about the map.

Or the good old crashsites?

What do you think? Any other ideas?

We will see crash sites later on, this is confirmed by rocket. I would like to see crashed military trucks/ military medic cars

Hordes of the undead out of nowhere in the wilderness. I guess it would make sense to have them all contain loot or something. I know it will be really dangerous and basically a situation that you have to run from, but there must be an incentive to engage them as a group.

 

It would be awesome to lure the horde into Cherno and watch the madness from the hills.

not like to see what the mod became a crazed PVP where you had only a few minutes and was already fully equipped. which made his death less important.

 

I hope to see a game really Dayz of survival where you choose to kill a player is able to really get your stuff.

Hordes of the undead out of nowhere in the wilderness. I guess it would make sense to have them all contain loot or something. I know it will be really dangerous and basically a situation that you have to run from, but there must be an incentive to engage them as a group.

 

It would be awesome to lure the horde into Cherno and watch the madness from the hills.

 This would be funny as! Watching all the new spawns running for their lives! :)

Hordes of the undead out of nowhere in the wilderness. I guess it would make sense to have them all contain loot or something.

 

Just combine the two. A hospital truck crash site where there's a horde of zombies (the patients that were in the truck) guarding nice loot (guns from the truck drivers and medical supplies from the truck).

 

Crash sites were like this in the mod, but it didn't make a ton of sense. 20+ zombies around a helicopter that could only hold 6-8 people.

Damn straight, new and improved crash sites. I want like 150 zombies though, not 15 or so like in the mod. I want it to be a serious decision to tackle one of these sites and something that you would never do alone.

I would like to see the medical field expanded.  Its already amazing, and i love that, and the more you can do, the more i would love it!  Also, I would like to see fishing introduced, and other forms of "living off the land" per say such as gathering plants and fruits off trees for food and hunting/trapping small and large game.  Kill a deer, loot the meat, and then cook it over a campfire.  Im a huge fan of the living off the land idea.

At the moment, given that nobody really knows where rocket is going to take it, I'd probably just like more zombies and a broader array of items tbh.

 

Also, does anyone else think ammo is too abundant? It seems to me that in the games scenario the use of guns isn't rare enough. I mean after a while of the zeds taking over, wouldnt using a gun be a rarity? I dunno, anyway, looking forward to what SA has coming in the future.

It really didn't make sense because these zombies are not dead, they are infected, so I don't know how they survived anyway.

 

I like the crash sites, but the weapons you get from there should be really damaged.

 

Medical/humanitarian air drops would be awesome. If they expanded the medical system like I want and included "surgical tools" that only spawned at those sites it would be cool.

 

Random bunkers would be fun, but would zero sense at all lol.

 

 

How about random "ghost ships" that come floating by. Not too far from shore, but you have to swim out and board it.

 

Instead of helo crashes how about cargo plane crashes. Way more zombies.

 

Also maybe a broken down/crashed TRAIN.

It really didn't make sense because these zombies are not dead, they are infected, so I don't know how they survived anyway.

 

I tended to think of it like this: choppers were delivering supplies either into or out of Chernarus, and one of the people on board was infected. Mid-flight the pilot was attacked and crashed, leaving some infected survivors to roam the area. It's a bit of a stretch, but it worked for me at the time.

not really with how the zombies attack/move now I could fire axe a horde of 100 zombies and take very little if any damage.

Air drops from who?? I imagine that the whole world is afflicted with the virus not just Chenaurus.

roaming hordes would be good...also like to see medical/schools/firehouses/shopping centers that are full of the undead. but also full of maybe some rare hard to get only in those type of building loot!

Completely agree with this. I was hoping that finding one bullet would be glorious. But, I've got like 300 5.56 rounds and no zombies to use them on.

It's just something that a few servers had in the mod and I feel it could be expanded upon.

 

And I wouldn't call it obvious as there is currently no back story for DayZ. Chernarus could be a huge quarantine zone for all we know.

Indeed, I recently dumped a full ammo box as it was literally just a waste of bag slots on the 30 pack as it was filled with 556 and I recently dumped my m4. I mean the 5 or so zombies per town can easily be dispatched with an axe and maybe one rag to stop the bleed from that one lucky shot they got in. 

 

I'm actually pretty happy at the moment with an axe, FNX and a single 15 round clip. I'm going to have to think carefully about when to use it, and it also limits my ability to damage friendlies out of sheer paranoia :P

Rocket and Sacriel discussed it a bit in the last Stream before Alpha release, but it hasn't been confirmed. Rocket did say he liked the idea after Sacriel explained why heli crashes would be a good idea to put into the SA due to the randomness and possible player tension they do create. We'll just have to see if it becomes a reality.

 

As for random military bases and other stuff along those lines... I don't think so, seems a bit too gamey to me.

True, for example forgotten survivor camps in wilderness. Instances without military loot would be great!

But maybe in the beginning of the apocalypse there were airdrops, but nobody get them till YOU come along. :)
