Khad (DayZ) 293 Posted January 2, 2014 Greetings my fellow survivors, There seems to be no thread like this according to the searchfunction, so I just start a new one, if you don't mind. I wonder how to reload the magnum. I got one yesterday and I have loads of ammo. Just the rounds laying around in my inventory without any speedloader or something else. My problem is, that i can just 'chamber' one single round. When I use the ammunition with the gun, it puts in one single shot and if I try to chamber the next one, it says, that it is full. I even fired once, to check this out. It's a revolver, so why should I need anything like a 'mag' in order to reload it?
matiman 166 Posted January 2, 2014 According to last rolling update log:Design: .357 Magnum Speedloader should now spawn So I guess you need a speedloader to load all the bullet ? (idk, didn't found a magnum yet...)If yes I agree with you it's not logical, speedloader should only reduce reloading time
Powell (DayZ) 734 Posted January 2, 2014 I haven't found a magnum but I assumed you could just load up all 6 manually. I guess you can't?
Julius Caesar 1760 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Greetings my fellow survivors, There seems to be no thread like this according to the searchfunction, so I just start a new one, if you don't mind. preacherlr 614 Posted January 2, 2014 Pretty sure it's a glitch, If you drag and drop the ammo it should ( atleast it did for me ) Load 6 rounds. However, Whenever I try to fire it, I just get a " Click ". After speaking to a friend who had a working magnum, He said he was using speedloaders, and that you can use it properly without them.
kegaro2 20 Posted January 2, 2014 I have a magnum on my character and all I had to do was drag the ammo over the weapon and select load... it loaded 5 rounds into the weapon without any issues.
Timmymachine109 (DayZ) 235 Posted January 2, 2014 Sounds like a bug to me, I'd add it to the bug report section
Griz2 77 Posted January 2, 2014 I have used a few magnums so far without much of a problem. I have just been dragging the bullets onto the revolver from my inventory and it chambers/fires all 6 just fine. Hitting 'R' doesn't reload it (for me) so when I need to reload I have to do the drag and drop thing in my inventory again. This is further complicated if there are still rounds in the revolver and I try to top it off after firing a few shots. I am only able right-click>eject the remaining bullets while the gun is in my hands and then drag and drop again. Sort of cumbersome mechanics but hey, it's alpha, things will improve. Hope this technique helps you, unless someone else has a better way.
Khad (DayZ) 293 Posted January 3, 2014 Thanks for the help. I will try it again this evening and i'm going to drag&drop the bullets instead of using the contextmenu.
