Lets talk about Game Mechanics for a minute

Id like to see a better system implemented for Ladder usage, climbing down haphazardly and not being able to act except for move up or down with a zed directly below you is neat and all, but Id like to see a more tactical approach to this movement.

 

What are some others things you would like to see improved?

 

 

My suggestion for ladder usage is that whilst climbing down you are able to use a sidearm, totally plausible in reality, and doesn't leave me as a sitting duck for Other players/Bambi's/Zeds. If this is impossible, give me the option to dismount with speed and ease.

 

AT THE VERY LEAST, when I get to the ground not spend 3-4 seconds pulling out whatever weapon my character feels like and checking to make sure his shoes are tied before being capable of running away. A lot of things have been done right in this game, and I feel a few more touches of realism will make this almost perfect.

I'd like to see the addition of tents, cold weather, more zeds and making them more deadly, new weapons.. you know stuff that is in the announcements section finished before I worry about ladders and such. Shoot the zombie before you get down.. problem solved.

No weapons, no problem, fists are numero uno in DayZ. Be like Ali, float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

Day:Z is a game of patience. Whichever neck-beard can out wait the moves of the other will win. I get what your saying but honestly there are other things in the game that need attention much more than this. Think outside the box. Go down the stairs instead of a ladder if possible. Bait him into shooting to reveal his location. Its all chess mate.
